"I think what I'd do, as president, is I would make a phone call to whoever, to the group," he said, adding later, "I'd talk to the leader. I would talk to him and I would say, 'You gotta get out -- come see me, but you gotta get out.'"
"You cannot let people take over federal property," Mr. Trump said. "You can't, because once you do that, you don't have a government anymore. I think, frankly, they've been there too long."
Mr. Trump said he wasn't necessarily suggesting a large-scale military action, but that "at a certain point you have to do something and you have to be firm and you have to be strong, you have to be a government."

Think of the support he could have garnered it he were to step in and SOLVE the situation.
WOW!! He CAN and is a GREAT negotiator. Able to get the BEST, GREATEST, ONE THAT WILL KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF deal!!
Note: Caps are for emphasis NOT yelling!!!! LOL
Hmmmmmmm!!
No censoring going on?
Those that live with it or are subjected to it, unlike most in cookie cutter suburbia, feel real strong about issues like this.
Hmmmm
Very good observation btw.
If anyone is interested.
Agreed but regrettably its complicated. The commie Chinese, for example, have plenty of agents and “business reps” inside USA. Those people could purchase our land just like they’re buying up thousands of USA houses — with legal “ownership” here ( but control and actual ownership still in foreign hands). Hard to police. But yes, I agree the effort must be made
“Stand down” is not “at a certain point you have to do something and you have to be firm and you have to be strong, you have to be a government.”
You understand the difference between “I don’t think you should do this” and “I will use force to stop you”, don’t you?

If Donald Trump were president, he tells the New York Times editorial board, he’d solve the standoff at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon with a simple phone call.
“I think what I’d do, as president, is I would make a phone call to whoever, to the group,” he said, adding later, “I’d talk to the leader. I would talk to him and I would say, ‘You gotta get out â come see me, but you gotta get out.’”

Wait a minute, speaking of favoring a firefight, it wasn't these guys who'd set up an ambush style operation, who killed and wounded some of them on a lonely rural road. They're were not the aggressors, I think they were headed to a meeting.
Armed people refusing to leave property that doesn’t belong to them.
...but you knew that.
So the article is a fraud, or just from a suspect lefty source? Or was someone trying to hide the source?
If they care, then they may want to get educated.
This is 100% federal land. It never was state land. I’m sorry if some of these folks have come to depend on exploiting public property for their livelihoods, but they have no more right to graze then I do to chop a tree down at my local post office. And if I showed up with guns to do it, I’d probably expect to get shot.
I posted the link to the source of the interview, the NY Times and the date of its publication, 1/7/16 as I recall.
Don’t know why they are missing now.
âYou gotta get out ââ¬â come see me, but you gotta get out.â People in Oregon are willing and waiting for Michele Fiore to arrive but she’s hours away.
They are afraid to walk out for fear of being shot like their buddy was.
What do you mean by “giving back”? This was never state property.
So will you defend me if I decide to move into a public court house?
a school?
Actually, just tell me the public buildings I (and many of my friends) shouldn’t be allowed to move into or come and go from whenever we want?
