Hidden Report: Mexico Remittances Total More Than Entire Mexican Oil Revenue
theconservativetreehouse.com ^ | February 9

Posted on 02/10/2016 6:38:18 PM PST by Helicondelta

Remittances sent home by Mexicans working outside the country surpassed petroleum revenues in 2015 for the first time. There was a 4.75% increase in money sent from abroad, most of which comes from the U.S., to total US $24.8 billion last year, up from $23.6 billion in 2014, said the Bank of Mexico.

An important factor in the increase in remittances is the jobs created by economic recovery in the U.S. Some 11 million Mexicans are believed to be living in the U.S. and many work in construction. Remittances, 97% of which are sent electronically, averaged $292 last year.

We have reviewed Donald Trump's border security and immigration proposals. Happily, he, and those who advise him, appear to be right over the target.

Trump's proposal carries: the border wall solution, the employment solution, the enforcement mechanisms of current law, and another angle that is strategically essential. "WESTERN UNION REMITTANCES" (Money Services Compliance):

[...] Meanwhile, Mexico continues to make billions on not only our bad trade deals but also relies heavily on the billions of dollars in remittances sent from illegal immigrants in the United States back to Mexico ($22 billion in 2013 alone)

[...] Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; [page 2, paragraph 7]

5% tax on remittances to Mexico would pay for a wall and the border patrol easily.

Simple. Outlaw all wire transfers to Mexico from individuals. Easy to do and enforce. A lot of these people will go home when they can no longer send US dollars to Mexico.

No Walmart or Western Union electronic money can be sent to Mexico. You will see results quickly.

Doesn’t look like it will take long to pay for the wall does it. ;-)

How about a 50% tax on Western Union remittances to Mexico..?

I think that’s good for starters.

I think a transfer tax of at least 15% is in order.

Western Union does not consider Mexico a foreign country for its money sending rates.

Illegals don’t pay for education for their kids, self employment taxes, social security, or health costs. They get food stamps, free health care, free schools, and send CASH back to Mexico.

This is how Trump builds the wall!

“The most important Mexicans for Mexico are those who FORESAKE their country and LEAVE.”

I think that’s really shameful, but that absolutely is the reality for them.

Their banks WANT their people to leave.

The best hope for those who remain there is for more of the others to give up hope and LEAVE. And remit.

Better idea: 20% tax on those remittances. Pay for wall. Build wall with an exit only door. Ramp up to 80% tax on those remittances.

How about this.

A 50% tax on all money sent and if the person relocates to Mexico (Guatemala, etc) then 50% of that amount is sent back, to the same name and address. The govt keeps 25% of the total, assuming the person self deports.

10% use fee/surcharge on all remittances sent to Mexico would pay for the wall in four years. That’s the 8 billion cost covered.
