Ted Cruz announced on Sunday the endorsements of six state representatives who had previously supported Rand Paul.
At least one representative was surprised to see his name.
The representative, J.R. Hoell, had met with Mr. Cruz, senator from Texas, on Friday, he said. "I made it clear I could not support him," Mr. Hoell said in a phone interview on Sunday evening

It’s interesting to see the amount of stretch taking place, for those who are supporting CRuz, despite all of the latest tacky tactics/amnesty associations that have come to light.
Trump’s warts have been known to all, for years. I trust the candidate who has built a successful business empire, has had to personally cover a payroll for THOUSANDS (that means he signs the FRONT of the check) and is NOT amnestyPAC or Special Interest group owned...nor is he a career politician or lawyer.
Really ironic words, as you’re libeling Cruz.
I and others have REPEATEDLY implored the accusing tongues to produce, in quotes, Ted Cruz’s “lie”. To be a lie it has to be factually incorrect and he had to know it was factually incorrect. To this date nobody has produced even one quote that was factually incorrect.
But they sure keep on with the libel.
Not very Christian but it’s a funny thing, because their screeds of untruth are all filled with how terrible it is to lie - especially if you say you’re a Christian.
I wasn’t going to say any more about this so I guess I fell from my intentions too, but it is just too ironic and disturbing to see people condemn Cruz for lying as they lie about him lying.
Did you read I said IF Cruz used lies or did you miss that. I don’t owe you or anyone an “in quote” - Google is your friend. That is an obvious coordinated distraction from Cruz supporter and not fitting here as I said IF. That Cruz WAS SAID to have lied should suggest that he would want to avoid any suggestion in the future. I assume he would never want to face this charges for which he apologized to ever be made again.
OK, I take that back. One person mentioned an ad where it apparently said that Donald Trump got rich from eminent domain. They didn’t produce a quote but if that is what the ad said then that was not true.
The general point Cruz’s ad was making was correct - that Trump considers it OK for individuals to get rich from forcing somebody to sell. It’s the “cost of doing business”. And Trump has defended that process as well. The offer he made for the woman was more than reasonable. And sometimes the public gains a lot from eminent domain projects. The Keystone Pipeline, for instance, is a matter of national security because our dependence on foreign oil makes us vulnerable.
Eminent domain is a confusing question, and it’s OK for the candidates to debate it. It was wrong for Cruz’s ad to use the factually incorrect statement that Trump got rich off of eminent domain, if that’s what the ad said.
Regarding the Ben Carson thing, the one thing that is of questionable accuracy is the claim that Carson was going to make a big announcement that week. What I suspect happened is that CArson’s NH staffers who quit the day before to join Cruz’s team told him that CArson was planning on giving his quitting speech and that is why they left his campaign. So at the time that the Cruz campaign said it they believed it to be true and it may even have been true as suggested by his lack of campaigning. If so, then CArson changed his mind and Cruz was left truly sorry that his people had said anything about it.
The venom with all this is disturbing to me. I wish we would get back to facing this nation’s enemies and coming up with solutions. Toward that end I will try my best to ignore the venom and exaggerations and concentrate on more important things.
Thank you for clarifying that you’re not saying Cruz HAS lied, but that he needs to know it matters to people if he does.
My comment was out of line and I apologize. I was too quick to jump to conclusions just like everybody else and I truly regret that. Even with good intentions, when emotions come into play we humans screw up most the time. God help us all!
I appreciate that you read my post. I do think lying and fraud matter and even appearances hurt. I think the GOPe will try to make Trump and Cruz appear in the worst light. Dirty tricks will abound. You are right God help us.
My wife got the same one today re $45 and matching funds.
She could even donate up to $500 and get it matched.
I did not get one.
Tomorrow we will try to determine what mailing list sold her name and address to Teddy.
For years we have signed up with different ways of using our first and middle name to track down those sell lists. So, who sold her name to Reddy Teddy. It was not Ca DMV nor her voting registration nor her major credit cards.
Yes, I agree with you wholeheartedly, now that I realize what you were saying. Thank you for clarifying.
I wish this whole thing could be acknowledged as a mistake, be forgiven, and everybody could move on with new respect for the other. I hate politics.
I remember you complaining on this forum about the dirty tricks Cochran and Barbour and McConnell in Mississippi. But now since its your guy it’s ok?
You know it isn’t, that’s why your only answer to every legitimate question regarding Cruz and his underhanded tactics is to bring up Trump. But we’re not talking about Trump. This article is about Cruz and his propensity to lie. Not a good thing for a self-described Evangelical to be doing.
So, you’re a closet Obama fan? How about Hillary you a closet fanof hers too?
Another misdirection and dirty trick by Trump to destroy the only true conservative.
There are plenty of those faux conservatives around supporting Trump, the blonde Obama.
“If you read what Donald has written ...”
Which year?
Talk about blind. If he wins you’re in for some serious disappointment.
Well, Cruz is smartest man in the world and has certainly found out how to steal a caucus - or at least attempt it. If you’re too dumb to understand that, my sympathies to you.
I do not see Ted Cruz as a principled or consistent.
He wrote and op-ed urging Congress to pass TPA and TPP. When he got a hurricane of blow back on his vote for TPA he flip flopped on TPA and claimed Mitch McConnell tricked him into voting for TPA. Really Ted? How did Mitch trick you into writing that op-ed in WSJ supporting TPA?
He was for legalization of illegals but when Trump showed that position unpopular with middle/working class folks he flip flipped on immigration and adopted Trumps enforce the law position on immigration.
Immigration and trade are the most important issues and Cruz can not be trusted on either one. Then he claims he is a natural born citizen of the USA and says it is settled law. That is a flat out lie, just like when he lied and when he said eminent domain is how Trump got rich. Lying and flip flopping are hardly the actions of a principled constitutional conservative.
I feel your pain.
Last week I got a letter that said “CHECK ENCLOSED”
it was from the Buick dealer for $5000.00 and it had MY NAME ON IT! But it was only if I used it to purchase a car.
Also enclosed was a stupid begging letter for me to come buy one of their cars!
This is a waste of money, STUPID, and OFFENSIVE!
YES! I GOT ONE LAST WEEK and I have never owned a Buick or done ANYTHING, ever, show that in interested!
Something MUST be done. Maybe I’ll go on a rampage to put Buick out of business.
Because these types of devious marketing tactics can not be allowed to go on.
Problem is the typical on the ground Trump supporters are having a hard time recruiting outside their immediate circle of non political savvy friends who are jumping on the Trump Train because it’s the newest and coolest thing. Trump gets his support from his own charisma. He is the best face of his campaign. People LOVE HIM when they see him in action. But if he fails to win them over, his average supporters surely can’t do it. I think he knows this. That’s why he has less ground Game and gives more speeches. He gets criticized for that, but I think he’s on to something.
Dirty trick, cause this pissant state Rep is so important? NH has 400 of them.
Cruz continues to disappoint.
I heard about that this morning.
