The United States is facing economic disaster on a scale few nations have ever experienced. Most people are unaware of the easily observable signs of this crisis, where it came from and how to stop it. While we persist in our superpower mentality, we have quietly become a second-class country in many respects.

We no longer produce what we need to sustain ourselves, we import much more than we export, and we are selling off our assets and taking on massive debts to sustain a standard of living we can no longer afford. Not only was this not the way we became a superpower but it is a sure way to lose this status

You have fallen into the habit of posting site URLs instead of the article’s URL itself. It makes finding the article difficult.

We have plenty of water, food, coal, oil, natural gas, and porn.
What else do we need?

Nothing that can't be fixed with:
1. Totally revamping our tax laws to encourage capital formation and operating a business.
2. Eliminating way too many business-unfriendly laws.
Essentially, the US economy since 2009 has been propped up by Federal Reserve quantitative easing. It's time for the type of real reforms that will drive a true broad-based economic recovery.

If you’ll look at the article (see URL in comment above), the authors advocate penalizing foreign companies and governments with no mention of deregulating US business. Plus they want to jack up capital gains taxes to “discourage short term thinking.” What a bunch a a—holes.

Actually the article at the link I posted is a reworking and extention of the earlier article which could have been found
here if this thread had been posted correctly...
