What Rove is doing is attacking Cruz the real threat to the establishment to push Rubio the establishment candidate. They are dismissing T Rump who is making a fool of himsel with his twitter pity party.

Keep thinking, you almost got it. Cruz needed evangelicals and the only place to get them was Carson. And only 4 votes per precinct. Easily done by his "Trump is unstoppable" threat.
Trump spent nothing in Iowa and only got one delegate less than Cruz, who spent a fortune, lied, and intimidated.
Thanks. That is what I figured. All they had to do was flip 4 votes at each precinct to turn the election. This was a well thought out “ground game” on their part and that includes down to the timing.

I agree, and what most people don’t seem to grasp, is what a “spoiler” is, this is not about what votes Trump lost, or Cruz, or others got, rather what votes would have gone to the good Doctor, that would NOT have gone to other candidates. This was a close contest, and 5% of Iowa voters as a result did not vote as they had wanted because of incorrect news being filtered thru the Caucases. I am not saying the results would not be the same, but I suspect that things would have been even closer, and MAYBE different. The devil is in the details, and IF this was premeditated, and I am not saying it is, but IF it is, it is an early indicator of things for the long run.
