On Wednesday, Karl Rove, not a Trump fan by any means, explained how the cheating could have cost Donald Trump the election in Iowa.
Wow!
This is a stunning indictment of the Cruz Campaign's cheating scandal.

We knew we smelled a rat almost from the time the caucuses began.
You have to give the Democrats credit. They did their fraud out in the open with no shame.
It takes a coward to hide it and also show no shame.
The GOPe had a great ground game that night. Operation Cuba.

In other words, Cruz was implementing New York values. He seems to be very facile with them.
Well, that is his "go to" place for $$...that and Goldman Sachs and Citi.

Cruz actually kept his promises he made when he ran for the Senate. He made enemies but he did what he promised.
He knew he would lose votes if he didn’t back the ethanol subsidy. Of course, he wanted to win but not bad enough to change his principles as Trump and Rubio eagerly did.
He won anyway.

Getting 4 votes to swing in each precinct seems very plausible
To: kjam22
No, actually they were told Carson is dropping out. And the numbers do add up if you turn 4 with 1500 opportunities.

Cruz campaign did not lie.
You are on this thread lying about the Cruz campaign.
The fact is that CNN reported that Carson was going home to Florida and would not go immediately to NH or SC.
CNN reported that this was unusual. Trump, Rubio, and Cruz campaigns all rightly reported this odd foolish plan by Carson to delegates so they could make their own decision about who was serious about pursuing the Presidency.
It would be irresponsible to not pass along this information that was issued as Breaking News by CNN and folks like Jake Tapper.
Trump lied when he congratulated Cruz on his victory Monday night. Now Trump wants a re-do.
There is no evidence that Cruz or any other campaign reported that Carson was out.
Carson is being unethical to refuse to discuss CNN’s reporting as the key starting point and also pretending that someone said Carson was out.

IF it was premeditated, not was, IF, it tells us of the character of the candidates and the people who follow them. Its something to watch. Carson gracefully accepted Cruz apology, so evidently there was something to apologize for, and note it went to all 1,500 caucus precincts, not his main managers, and there were not 1, but 2 messages sent. Do I think Cruz did this? Don’t know, not likely really, but more important is what Cruz does about it. So far, I don’t see anything he is doing that would affect the results, he is just moving on. But lets give it a bit more time...

My sides hurt from laughing at you. The mental disconnect that would allow a trump supporter to say that with a straight face is just too rich to even say anything more.

It’s odd to me that Ben Carson chose to attack Cruz on this issue.
Cruz has never said one negative thing about Ben Carson.
But Trump did.
When Carson was leading in Iowa Trump called the people of Iowa stupid for being for Carson. He also suggested that Carson had mental problems.
But, see, that’s not Trump’s fault. It’s what he does when someone is ahead of him.

SO I’m supposed to be shocked Rove is for Rubio?
You’re trying too hard to justify Cruz’z tampering. Even if Rubio’s people engaged as well he wouldn’t be the logical beneficiary. Carson’s support is nearly all evangelical.
This is simple stuff.
To: Helicondelta
If I had been a precinct captain for Carson and someone stood up and said that he was withdrawing, I would have simply gone to Carson's twitter feed to see that he had refuted the implication of the CNN story. And to see that he was still actively campaigning at various caucus locations.
Are we supposed to believe that a statistically significant number of committed Carson voters simply took the word of another campaign and did not bother to independently verify it?
How stupid do you think the people in Iowa are?

Yep. I still wonder if they found the 90 missing precincts on the Democrat side.
