RUSH LIMBAUGH: Rubio Is Not an Establishment Moderate

TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I have to say one thing, one more thing, one more time. I do not like -- and I've got a Reuters story: "Marco Rubio Emerges Champion of Battered Republican Establishment." Another Reuters story, headline: "Republican Cruz Calls Iowa Win a Victory for Conservative Grassroots." I do not like, speaking for myself, I don't like this idea that Marco Rubio is all of a sudden being labeled as an establishment candidate.

I know that Rubio's got the baggage of that Gang of Eight bill and I know that in many people's minds he's got the baggage of wanting to grant the current number of illegals citizenship. I understand that. But Marco Rubio is no moderate Republican centrist. I could sit here like anybody else could and try to make explanations for you for why he did the Gang of Eight. I'm not even gonna try to put words into his mouth. I don't want to be seen as making excuses. I'm just telling you, I don't see Marco Rubio as anything other than a legitimate, full-throated conservative. Nobody's pure, and nobody is ever free of making mistakes.

I know Senator Rubio. It's like I was telling you last week: I know these people. I know that Senator Rubio in the Senate... In many ways, he agrees with Cruz about things. He's worn out with the Senate. The Senate... I heard this from Allen West when he left the House. I've heard, "The incumbents, that's all they care about is being reelected. You go there to make a difference and you run into brick wall after brick wall after brick wall." I don't think... You know, Rubio, I don't think he wants to stay there 30 years to break through the wall to get a committee chairmanship or whatever.

I just don't like this idea that all of a sudden we're gonna make Rubio the establishment bad guy, as though Rubio is no different than the McCains and the Bob Doles and the Romneys and the others that have come along and been nominated by the establishment. He just isn't. He has not been talked out of his conservatism. He does not abandon it. He had the best end-of-the-evening speech of anybody last night. He had the best end-of-the-evening speech of anybody. And even the media was dazzled by the fact that he did it without a teleprompter.

They continue to be dazzled by that. (chuckling) Of course, Barack Hussein O can't do anything without a teleprompter. I just don't want to... We had three genuine Reaganites triumph last night, and Rubio did better than a lot of people thought he was gonna do -- and to me, that is very important. It is crucially important for conservatism, for Reaganism, for the future of the Republican Party. I'm just not comfortable here sitting and watching somebody end up maybe being destroyed because of a characterization of being "establishment."

Yeah, the establishment may embrace him because they hate Cruz and they're not gonna embrace Trump, and their real preferences can't get any traction. (That would be Jeb and Kasich and Christie.) So they've gotta go with somebody. But I'm never gonna be one that sees Marco Rubio as the establishment, as we talk about it every day here on this program.

Rubio is an amnesty / open borders pimp.

And that is the one issue on which I am a one issue voter. No negotiation. I don’t care if he’s endorsed by God.

Rush must be taking drugs if he thinks Rubio is a conservative .

Rubio used to be. In fact, he was a conservative hero, the next coming of Reagan. Did he change? I don't know but I'll wager that you give Cruz the same amount of time in the Senate and posters here will be dumping all over him, too. It's inevitable.

True conservatives are hard to come by because there aren't any.

Personally, I don't think there's a nickle difference between the two.

Honestly, I think RUSH believes TRUMP and Cruz will succeed in blowing each other up, with the vigorous help 24/7 from the Establishment and that we will therefore wind up with Rubio.

Rubio will be the last man standing, because TRUMP and Cruz supporters despise each other and their rage trumps outcome.

TRUMP 2016

ROTFLMAO!

Yeah Rush and you are not a junkie either.....(sarcasm off)

Rubio and his gang of 8 is 100 CERTIFIED ESTABLISHMENT.

Rubio sounds like memorized parrot every time he speaks. He is so fake and 100% Establishment compromised. Probably more than Boehner.

RUBIO = ESTABLISHMENT PLAN B ( Plan A was Jeb)

We all know Cruz will be disqualified by a shopped federal judge Rush. Of course it will be led by the DNC and privately with the help of Karl Rove, and the rest of the GOPe.

For the record I will NEVER vote for that WORTHLESS GANG OF 8 P.O.S..... YOU CAN BANK ON THAT RUSH!!!

Go to the site and read about how Reaganite’s won last night.. With Cruz, Rubio and Carson winning 60% of the vote. Says DT blew it with his attacks and lies about Cruz and other conservatives. Rush says every day DT isn’t conservative cause he is not.

You suffer dimentia so I'm not sure if I should believe this, but, if true, wow, Hush Bimbo really is throwing in his lot with the establishment. There's only one reason to elevate Rubio over Trump-- and that's to elevate the GOPe's choice. Although Rubio will probably be crushed immediately after Ted Cruz is taken out of contention, assuming that the GOPe really does have proof of Rubio's adultery.

And I agree with you and Rush. There is very little I don’t like about Rubio, I decided that several weeks ago and am not looking back. I just couldn’t get Trump or Cruz and I think they both have major issues in the general, along with both equally nasty and ruthless. Rubio can and will beat Hillary or Sanders.

“Immigration is not my litmus test anyway”

94 million Americans not working, manufacturing gone overseas or to Mexico, a million plus legal immigrants allowed each year into the United States, Rubio’s amnesty would allow chain migration which would increase the Mexican immigrants by about and additional 30 million in just a few years... If you want to retain your country, you had better make it a litmus test, or get ready to be dispossessed by third worlders.

Agreed even on this thread one freeper did their sly dig about Trump when the thread is about Rubio.
Seems some can’t help themselves and would rather have the establishment or the Dems win .

Rush is wrong. Rubio has become the Establishment favorite this time around. But the line between conservatives and the Establishment isn't as absolute as many people think. The Establishment didn't have a problem with Reagan once it was clear that he was the nominee, and some Establishment figures have had more conservative voting records than some people believe.

Rubio is a vote Hillary. Just like Dole, McCain and Romney were all chosen losers for GOP voters. In the boxing world don’t they have such a thing as being paid to take a dive? And no one ever knows what or how much the promised payment is. GOP establishment and media are so hot to have him as our nominee. Why? Cause he is so much better than all the rest?

FOX intends to wreck Cruz and TRUMP in any descending order.

FOX viewers deserve what they get for propping them up.

Limbaugh is basically right. Rubio has a Very conservative voting record.... except for the Gang of Eight.

I’ve drawn my line on the Gang of Eight betrayal.

So you have no problem with Americans losing their job, going to places where no one speaks English, where the call to prayer is said every morning etc etc.

WOW

Without a country you have nothing to put a litmus test on.
