Fueled by a big lead among first-time Iowa likely Republican Caucus participants, Donald Trump jumps to a 31 - 24 percent lead over Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida has 17 percent, with Dr. Ben Carson at 8 percent and no other candidate above 4 percent.

At this rate we’re going to have a new poll about Iowa 5 minutes before the caucus opens. Not that I don’t welcome the good news though LOL.
Did you notice that none of the other candidates are making an issue about it? It's almost as if they decided to let Cruz self-destruct.
On NBC's AM News (FWIW, I'm becoming appreciative of their news division) Sanders, Clinton, Trump, Rubio and Palin were all interviewed. Odd....Cruz was not. I'm wondering if that is telling.
PS: Palin knocked it OUT OF THE PARK!! In one answer she said Cruz should stay in the US Senate!
Rubio rising is a bad thing for Cruz I hope. Trump’s gotta win IA and get this thing put away.
Much happier to see this poll, although the polling dates are 1/25-1/31. Still, nothing in their release that would suggest that Rubes is picking up steam. We’ll know tonight. Go Trump!
Trump will win, but “The Rube” at #2? popcorn time
Cruz supporters are switching to Rubio.
This explains why Cruz shifted his negative ads from Trump to Rubio.
Trump went through an unprecedented barrage of negative ads and didn’t lose any ground.
Undecideds are only 3% at this point.
It won’t be a good night for the establishment.
They are saying record turnout. Trump effect!
Well the expectations are set, Trump is the Yugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee winner. IF Cruz were to now defy the overwhelming odds against him it will be fun to see the reaction of Trump who will go into a rage and melt down.
I've seen posted on FB that Rubio sent out a similar mailing to Cruz's but no one (GOPe) made a big deal about it.
IMO, the mailer went against the image Cruz was trying to portray. I think if Trump sent out a mailer like that it wouldn't get the same reaction.
The next 12 hours can't pass soon enough.
I think these polls were geared to show Trump lost ground over the debate. And they wouldn’t have left him enough time to counter.
we have a blizzard of polls
Looks like no snow in Iowa until 6am tomorrow morning.
It’s 52 degrees in Boston!
Big crowd when interviewed by one of the nets on Sunday regarding Cruz's fake report card.
Trump did tweet about it - once. Which for him, is not really mentioning it.
That’s good news about the snow. But we had a big snow in this neck of the woods just over a week ago. Even as the snow was already flying, the liquor stores and supermarkets were jammed with people. I never did understand the mindset that people would not vote simply because it was snowing outside.
The technique is bad enough, but the level of intimidation and misrepresentation in it goes waaay beyond "everybody does it". It shows a TOTAL lack of judgement.
I'd like to see Rubio's letter if it's true. If it's the same extreme garbage, I'd have the same reaction to it.
