Cruz: Trump 'Owes At Least $480 Million Right Now' [VIDEO]
The Daily Caller ^ | January 31, 2016 | Derek Draplin

Posted on 01/31/2016 7:27:11 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Sen. Ted Cruz on Sunday accused front-runner Donald Trump of owing $480 million, noting "it could be billions."

Appearing on "Fox News Sunday" the Texas senator told host Chris Wallace that his own loans to run for senate were disclosed and also accused Trump of owing millions.

"If you look at his financial disclosure, he owes at least $480 million dollars right now, and it could be billions," Cruz told Wallace.

"He knows this loan story is completely nonsense," Cruz said. "It's also the height of hutzpah - for someone who owes hundreds of millions of dollars if not billions of dollars, to attack Heidi and me because we put our life savings into running for senate. And the statement that the loans weren't disclosed, he knows is flat out false. The loans were disclosed."

Wallace then pressed Cruz to explain what Trump owes.

"If you look at his financial disclosure, he owes at least $480 million dollars right now and it could be billions," Cruz told Wallace. "And by the way with loans when Heidi and I take loans, we pay them back."

"Donald's declared bankruptcy four times, and so for him to sit there owing hundreds of millions or billions or who knows, and to criticize Heidi and me for putting our entire net worth into the campaign is astonishing," Cruz said. "It is not honest, especially because the loans were disclosed, they were publicly disclosed at the time."

Cruz’s vote shaming of Iowa residents flopped, so now he’s trying his hand at loan shaming.

I have never seen a republican politician that lies as much a Cruz. It is mind boggling the ease with which this man lies.

"I am still singing his (Donald Trump) praises." Lie
"The loans were disclosed" a misrepresentation that borders on a lie.
"Donald has declared bankruptcies 4 times" another misrepresentation what borders on a lie.
"Donald is engaging in daily insults I am not going to respond in kind" Lie
"I have not insulted him and i do not intent to insult him" Lie
"Donald Trump supports exspanding Obamacare" Lie
"If Donald Trump is elected President the federal government will get full on socialist medicine" Lie

I was off looking for that. A typical margin loan these days seems to be about 7-8%. Signature loans appear to be allover the place.

Did Ted get a “house” deal on both loans? Humm...

From what Trump said Cruz definitely did get a “house loan”.

If Trump is wrong he will be crucified - but not even one cricket has chirped about it yet.

Cruz is desperate and pathetic. $480 million? Trump Tower's commercial and retail space alone is worth $460 million -- and that does not include the 50%+ of space that is luxury condos. And Trump Tower is one of his SMALLEST spaces in NYC.

At least Melania Trump didn't advocate betraying the Constitution to subvert U.S. sovereignty to a North American Union. Every member of that CFR committee belongs in Gitmo.

He never fooled me.

He had me fooled right up until his TPA vote. I put a lot of faith into a Sarah Palin endorsement. It was Sarahs' endorsement that flipped me from Dewhurst to Cruz. Dan Patrick, whom I also trust was for Dewhurst.

Shaming is all Teddy knows how to do if you look at it objectively.

His judicial masturbation trying to pass a law that Obama would actually sign repealing his signature achievement (in Obama’s eyes) was beyond foolish but made for great grandstanding. His followers in here try to shame the rest of us by saying we aren’t Christians or not conservatives merely because we see thru his spiel.

The violation mailer is Teddy’s operating style, and this financial accusation is pandering to LIVs while displaying quite clearly that he is a lifelong governmental parasite and not someone who has ever generated anything except rules for others to follow.

You are correct. My bad sentence structure. They admitted that they failed to file the form properly. But being a lawyer who argues before the Supreme Court, do you think it was a mere omission. The FEC form is released to the general public and the Cruz’s claimed they put up all their personal assets to run, whereas they took loans from Sachs and Citi.

The hypocrite is the Trump supporter who uses your ridiculous loose standard of flip-flopping.

Glenn Beck endorsed Ted Cruz not Donald Trump. Someday you might get over it. I really can't help your weird LOL!! condition and done trying to understand it.

This is not the first time you posted to me wasting my time (wasn't me posting to you) with weak and weird arguments. Obviously you have a grudge and constantly need a redo.

Too bad it didn't work out for you, again.

But the good thing for Ted is, that when Donald Trump asked the people at one of his three YUGE rallies yesterday, which mattered more to them: the loans or the Canadian birth. It was the Canadian birth by far. Almost no one really cared about these loans. They cared that a natural-born Canadian was running for President of the United States.

The loans are a diversion, (Look!..a squirrel). The real issue is his birth, and as it is becoming increasingly clear, his character and integrity.

They are going to nail his ass to the floorboards on the birther issue..and he knows it.

When you buy develop property you get loan (mortgage) to do so. Standard operating procedure. Every developer does it.

Sigh. yet another garbage ani-trump post by yet another cruz troll.

“That’s barely 5% of his net worth. The man makes $400M per year. For the size and breadth of his organization this is peanuts.”

The average family in the U.S. has FAR greater debt relative to their net worth than 5%.

Besides this is nothing: I heard that Trump pulled the pigtails of a schoolmate on the playground one time when he was in first grade; I was a Trump supporter until I heard that, but now I’m pretty sure I’m going to vote for Bernie Sanders.

Correct on all counts.

What Cruz is doing here is no different than the verbal trickery he employs when recounting his voting record.

It’s relatively easy to get an idea of The Trump Organization’s finances. You can go to Forbes’ website and look up their article on him.

They value Trump’s net worth lower than he does but still a substantial fortune. His total debt is about $480 Million or lower. But that debt is for various projects and he does have very good cash flow. Unlike a number of other companies and individuals Trump doesn’t appear to have gone out and taken advantage of low interest rates and loaded up on Debt. He seems to watch costs and expenses very carefully.

I suspect Senator Cruz may need to go back to Business 101 for a refresher course.

In any event he is the link for the Forbes article: http://www.forbes.com/sites/erincarlyle/2015/06/16/trump-exaggerating-his-net-worth-by-100-in-presidential-bid/#48e3fa081a24

When it cows to New Jersey...
Politics and organized crime are one and the same. I would not use a New Jersey commission’s report for toilet paper for fear of getting my behind twice as dirty.

The loan thing was dumb when trump brought it up. What Ted said is accurate if not precise.

It’s good to get these things out of the way now. The Democrats will surely use things like this, and stuff we don’t even know about yet, in the general election.
