The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.
The text reads:
"You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors' are public record. Their scores are published below, and many of them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday's caucuses".
In an effort to shame the recipient, the notice also informs the targeted voter their neighbors have also been notified of the recipients poor voting record.

Well good night Jedi, its been fun playing. Make sure to feed the cats before going to bed.... :)
Considering we are expecting a blizzard Monday night, perhaps I should respond in kind :)
Guy walks into a bar and sits at a table. Tells the waitress, “I’ll have a Bloody Mary and a menu.” When she returns with his drink, he asks “Still servin’ breakfast?” When she says Yes, he replies, “Then I’ll have two eggs-runny on top and burnt on the bottom, five strips of bacon one end-well done and still raw on the other, two pieces of burnt toast and a cold cup of coffee.” Indignantly the waitress says, “We don’t serve that kinda stuff in here!” Guy says, “Funny... that’s what I had in here yesterday...”
Is that you, Lanny Davis?
Don’t spew that GROSSLY OFFENSIVE talking point that we are “past ideology.” There is NOTHING that matters besides ideology. I only vote for people who agree with me on the issues, period. What other possible reason could there be to vote for someone? I have to agree with the policies they’re going to put in place.
If we’re “past ideology,” why don’t you go on Democrat Underground? What’s the difference between there and here? What you’re saying is fundamentally stupid, false and dangerous.
What Trump’s running on is a huge brand name and name recognition. Nothing else. This country is obsessed with celebrity, ever since reality TV started and people were able to get famous for being famous. The country is extremely ignorant on the issues. The ONLY way to save the country is to TEACH them the conservative ideology they aren’t being taught in liberal schools.
If you say ideology doesn’t matter, you are a TRAITOR to the cause and worse than useless, you’re destructive.
Rotflol.
I ate there last week.
Thanks for the laugh.
Everyone has a right to comment on this, but it’s the nasty comments that are getting out of hand. FR is starting to look like DU.
This was a fatal error. There was no room for Cruz to make stupid mistakes and this one ranks up there with the stupidest error of all time.
If you hate Trump, I can understand it. Look down the list. Maybe there’s somebody there who is acceptable to you who can stop the Trump bandwagon. I don’t see it.
Regardless of how you feel about Cruz, this stunt is indefensible. It was stupid beyond words. It was a Howard Dean moment on steroids.
Cruz is done. Put a fork in him.
You really want to go there? Talk about Trump being in tabloid scandal after cheating on his first wife and divorcing her. Then he divorced his 2nd wife days before his pre-nup agreement was about to grant her more money in a divorce. Somewhere along the way he’s said he’s slept with other people’s wives. Then he married a foreign nude model he saw in a magazine for wifey #3.
I’ve been watching Cruz since he was first elected. I have no doubt he is a gifted lawyer, but outside of his area of expertise he not very bright. I first started to worry about him when he wanted to punish the Egyptian military for overthrowing Egypts’ Muslim Brotherhood government. I could not believe it, Ted come on the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization Egypt military just saved Egypt from becoming another Iran. This mailer does not surprise me in the least.
I’ll bet Trump personally approves everything that goes out with his name on it.
Let me compliment you on your wonderful snark.
A guy walks in.........ok, he did not walk in, he was already there. One guy says, “I slept with my wife before we were married, did you?”. The other guy says, “I don’t know; what was her maiden name?”.
I married a man from a small village in Iowa. We moved to a big city, and any time I was free and open about personal things (not deep dark secrets) he would get very upset. Things like we are thinking of renting in xxxx neighborhood, we may take a trip next summer to xxxx, stuff like that. I was from a suburb by a big city.
Except the facts don’t fit your world view. Many mentions of the nice letters Trump is sending out.
I noticed in that Jeff Roe article that Roe used a “San Francisco values” attack in a 2008 Missouri House race, and won. He went back to the well this time with Cruz and “New York values” but got smacked back hard by Trump.
The fastballs you throw in AAA get knocked out of the park in the majors.
BTW you emotional nitwit I never said I was past ideology...I said IMO that the nation had moved beyond it & that this is now a populist/nationalist election; like it or not.
