The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.
The text reads:
"You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors' are public record. Their scores are published below, and many of them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday's caucuses".
In an effort to shame the recipient, the notice also informs the targeted voter their neighbors have also been notified of the recipients poor voting record.

Oh, you didn’t get the memo?
Ted Cruz is America’s self-ordained minister ...

That's John King, Drudge, Joe Scarborough... the piling on begins. Anyone else still think this isn't a big deal?
Get your purple KoolAid right here folks, lucky9 has plenty to spare.
Deal with the facts or don’t waste my time, cult-boy.
An ‘Ignore’ feature would be nice for some of them. And this one sure has wasted a lot our time.
***Personally, Iâd be REALLY pissed at anyone trying to âshameâ me into doing anything, and Iâd be almost guaranteed to do the opposite of what I was trying to be âshamedâ into doing.***
“Shaming” sounds like it has Beck’s name all over it.
Is self serving public humiliation the Christian thing to do? Or, to put it differently, should the pastor stand in front of the congregation and read the name of each member and how much each gives yearly to the church?
Moreover, voting is a choice. Not voting makes as much of a statement as voting. Sending out this card is disgustingly presumptuous that the candidate is owed your support, except for the laziness on your part. Whether it works or not is not the point. It is wrong and it certainly is not Christian.

I haven’t heard anything from him yet and it is after 4:30 pm in Iowa.
It is starting to surface in the news.
Just a bizarre tactic...can’t believe it!
You do realize that the last two winners of the Iowa caucus were Huckabee and Santorum, right? Yeh, they went far.
IMO, the caucus winner in Iowa does NOT determine who is getting the nomination.
Drudge just put this link up.
Good catch!
Well we’ve seen 3 of the biggest primary gaffes in history in our lifetimes. The Dean Scream, the Perry Oops, and the Cruz.. I dunno what to call it yet, but this one is intentional and orchestrated from the top down of his campaign. It’s unlike the rest, it’s sinister.
IT'S ON DRUDGE!
Iowa secretary of State scolds Cruz over controversial mailers

This is not a typical election. Cruz is done if he does not win Iowa. He has put every one of his eggs in that basket. Trump does not need Iowa but will likely take it, as well as the rest of the states which are all lined up for him now. If Rubio can finish second in Iowa, it’s over faster for Cruz.
Sounds like you are saying it depends on what the meaning of is is.
I agree. Thanks.
I was hoping you didn’t think the way I addressed it was wrong.
Take care.
