Murdoch urges Bloomberg to Run Amid Trump Debate Boycott
The Hill ^ | 1/27/16 | Neetzan Zimmerman

Rupert Murdoch broke his three-day Twitter silence Wednesday morning to urge former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to join the 2016 White House race amid an ongoing feud with Republican front-runner — and fellow New York billionaire — Donald Trump.

"This is Bloomberg's last chance,” Murdoch tweeted. "You never know until your hat is in the ring!”

"Events change everything,” the News Corp. boss added, cryptically, "especially during elections.”

Murdoch’s Fox News is currently engaged in a rapidly escalating war of words with Trump, who has vowed to skip Thursday night’s Republican debate, which is being hosted by the network.

The real estate mogul floated the boycott earlier this week over concerns that Fox News star and debate co-moderator Megyn Kelly would be “unfair” to him, prompting Fox to issue a statement ridiculing Trump’s comments.

Who you support?

Hillary?

I support Cruz, then Trump.

I no longer fully believe in Trump though, but he’s better than anyone else other than Cruz. I still like a lot of what he does, appreciate what he has done, but don’t think it will necessarily correlate to how he governs.

Now, that’s straightforward and more than your tone and intention merits.

So what’s your problem and why the harassment?

And I am not finny.

Well, well, well....here we have media mogul Murdoch trying to be a king maker in his dotage.

If anyone thinks there isn't a behind-the-scenes, subversive cabal pulling strings, directing events, doctoring news and spreading disinformation on a daily basis to the clueless middle and peon classes, then some re-thinking is in order...and quickly.

Here we have a foreign-born tycoon who has long insinuated himself into the highest levels and circles of our government, who is best of friends with the foreign-born advisor who has the closest access of anyone to the ear of the president of the United States...and who now is doing all he can to manipulate our election process and pick out next president by using his media empire as a tool to accomplish this.

Rupert's machinations should be cause for the greatest of alarm surpassing all our understanding.

Wake up, America. Lefty King Murdoch and his two leftist princely sons do NOT have our country's best interests at heart. And, as a side note, Megyn Kelly and her two fan boys are but minor spear carriers in this primary election operatic cast of characters. Keep your eyes on Fox News' ownership.

Bloomberg should file in the remaining Democrat primaries. He’d beat the pants suit off Hillary.

“Yeah, take a look at the Gretawire “Poll!” 83% say that they are not going to watch the Fox Debate. Then go to the comments section and read the vitriol against Fox, Ailes, Kelly and Murdoch.”

Absolutely. They didn’t allow comments on their general announcement about Trump skipping the debate. (cowardly, but smart)

But they accidentally allowed comments on the poll. Oops!

Because Bloomberg will take more votes from Dhimmicraps, thus enabling a Republican victory. Meaning if Trump’s the nominee, Bloomberg’s candidacy will help ensure a Trump presidency.

But somehow, the Trumpkins will spin that around to an anti-Trump position. They and their candidate seem to feel a great need to feel persecuted and picked on.

Bloomberg’s an elite who looks down on the people. Think puffed up control freak jerk. What else kind of person would decide HE had the right to control what size drinks we could buy?

Do YOU think he would restrict the size of $300 bottles of wine for the elites? Or insist the upscale New York Restaurants drop ‘cream’ as an ingredient? Hell no.

Only the best for his fellow elites.. The guys gets off on pushing the ‘little people’ around. He's no different than Bill Clinton sexually abusing powerless women or Hillary lying in the faces of grieving parents.

He's an assh*le with lots of money. I would vote for Sanders before I would vote for Bloomberg. Maybe he and Brit Hume and Megan can start their own network for puffed-up elites...

Aren't those part of the "New York Values" Trump espouses???

Sounds an awful lot like Trump... Didn't he threaten to get some poor sound guy fired over a problem with a microphone recently?

Yeah, and you couldn’t find an e-mail address on any of the FNC websites to lodge a complaint. I had to “google “ to get one. I just imagine that their servers are melting down!

Bloomberg could never come close to winning in any state, including New York. Not against Trump, not against Hillary, not even if Sanders is the Dem. Trump could win those states as a third party, perhaps. Not Bloomberg. So your scenario is not plausible.

So your scenario is not plausible.

Then you have nothing to worry about. But I think you are wrong. I think Bloomberg would have a much better chance to win in states like NY, NJ, etc. He could run as a "moderate" progressive, painting Trump as a racist demagogue and painting Hillary/Bernie as socialists. Most NE Republicans tend to be more liberal and would oppose Trump in immigration; independents and Dems in those states that do not want to vote for Hillary might vote for Trump is there is not an alternative, but Bloomberg would give them that alternative.
