FBI going 'right to the source' in Clinton email probe, interviewing intel agencies
Fox News ^ | January 26, 2016 | Catherine Herridge, Pamela K. Browne

Posted on 01/26/2016 2:43:15 PM PST by jazusamo

The FBI is going straight to the source in its investigation of classified emails that crossed Hillary Clinton's personal server, speaking with the intelligence agencies - and in some cases, the individuals - that generated the information, two intelligence sources familiar with the probe told Fox News.

Investigators are meeting with the agencies and individuals to determine the classification level in the emails. The step speaks to the diligence with which the bureau is handling the investigation, despite the former secretary of state's claims that the matter boils down to a mere interagency dispute.

"This is not merely a difference of opinion between the State Department and the Department of Justice," one intelligence source, who is not authorized to speak on the record, told Fox News, referring to comments on the Sunday talk shows and by the Clinton campaign downplaying the FBI's investigation. "The bureau will go directly to depose specific individuals in agencies who generated the highly classified materials."

The source added, "At the end of the day it will be a paper case. Emails never disappear because computers never forget."

A former senior FBI intelligence officer, while not directly involved in the Clinton email investigation, previously told Fox News it was standard practice for the bureau to go directly to the originating source because it is cleaner and maintains the integrity of the investigation.

"You want to go right to the source," Timothy Gill Sr., a former senior FBI intelligence officer, said. "Investigative protocol would demand that."

Not only should they send their recommendation to the AG, they should publish their findings. Chances are they will send up a recommendation to indict, but it will be quashed. We need to know. The public has a right to know.

Amen to that. There comes a time when these criminal acts have to be dealt with and that time is now being they haven’t already.

"The bureau does not waive its primacy in espionage cases," the intelligence source said, referring to USC 18 793 and 794. "The security investigation is now part and parcel with the criminal [public corruption] investigation." The source said both tracks are being pursued "vigorously" and there is a sense of "incredulity as to what is being discovered."

Nuff said.

There are obviously political considerations.

If the Obama administration feels they will have to indict HRC, then it would be logical to do it now, before she becomes the nominee. That would allow other electable candidates to enter the race and duke it out with Bernie.

If, on the other hand, the Obama administration wished to destroy the Democratic Party, they only have to wait about four or five months, and then indict her.

Absolutely, and there’s been several who say the FBI will publish or leak their findings if there’s no indictment, I pray that’s true.

I think they will time it so BO will be out of office and can’t pardon her. Hope so.

So what they are saying is...they COULD find Lois Lerners emails if they wanted?

I want her in jail nearly as much as I want Hillary.

It's a crime in itself that she is still running around free.

14 posts before some sanity...

The incessant ‘hitlery is going to jail’ FR tossage is just nuts. Has everyone forgotten the last 30 years?

Hitlery will go to jail the same day her oystermate goes to jail for being a 20 year MB operative.

one of the things I wonder is if Hillary had intelligence reports she should not have. some documents are so classified that there might be only a few people allowed to view the info. if Hillary has one of those documents and her name is not on the list of those allowed to see the documents I see a long jail sentence as a possibility.

The only way Obama stays out of Prison is for the next President to refuse to put him there.
What, exactly, is the point in running on a platform of putting your predecessor in jail? Suppose you do that, and suppose you win in November. Will you live to Inauguration Day? Will the sitting POTUS leave office peacefully?

Bottom line: it is hard to discipline a president. It is dangerous to the Constitution to discipline a president or former president. Because of the precedent it establishes in favor of refusing to leave office.

"The next president needs to bring massive upheaval to the corruption and idiocy running rampant in the corridors of power today."

Something takes place when you elect a person of principle and they go to Washington. It's like there is this place where they all go for orientation and they get scared to death, threatened, bribed wildly, or get brainwashed somehow? Perhaps a combination of all the above?

I've seen it too many times. Every time as a matter of fact. I'm not a James Trafficant fan by any stretch, but look at what they did to him for trying to swim against the crowded stream?

The only thing that could possibly happen is that a Concigliere steps in and negotiates a “Health Condition” which she will say knocks her out of the race in exchange for a secretly brokered no indictment, and hands off the Clinton Foundation money laundering scheme.

dancing the Tyburn Jig.

Ah, yes, I agree. Along with that character that deserted then was invited to meet the Jug-eared Jackass, both are treasonous.

By the way, that was really funny. Did you get it from Patrick O'brian, it sounds like him.

We need to keep in mind that the clock begins running at the time of indictments. A new administration and justice department can keep it going. How does one give clemency to people who have not been convicted yet? Obama can't.

Unfortunately, he can. There is considerable precedent. For instance, Carter issued unconditional pardons to more than 50K draft dodgers, most of whom hadn't been indicted, much less convicted. Nixon had not been indicted for anything when Ford issued a full pardon for any wrongdoing he might have committed.

If Obama does issue a pardon, it's worth noting that presidential pardons cannot extend to state offenses. I'm sure the Clinton Crime Family has amassed plenty of those along the way.

I had forgotten about Carter. Intentionally I suppose. The state offenses actually are very fertile ground considering all of the scandals including Fast and Furious.

the sources noted are intel sources

un mentioned were state department sources, underlings that are state department lifers that when squeezed will fess up. I don’t know who they are but know they will be interrogated and at least one will crack

: I think Hillary has never been so smart as she always imagined she was... She's typical of the kind of moron who swings their weight around under color of law or someone else's authority and influence. She really thinks she is somebody.

I've thought about this, and I am not sure that she is not merely a cardboard figure holding a giant rice bowl. I mean she has a lot of people making a living propping her up, and if you look at her background, she has never done anything on her own. I think she is just a dumb **** who has always been manipulated, first by her husband and then by a long string of sketchy actors.

I don’t recall where I ran across the concept of the Tyburn Jig, but I believe I associated it with DWTS on my own.

Others may have made that association independently.

If not, well, then, that’s just part of my charm.

So far, there’s not enough to convict this oligarch. Hillary will throw Huma under the bus, create enough uncertainty and sympathy to beat Bernie, and find a way to demonize Comey, and proclaim it’s “old news” in the general election.
