American Airlines flight to Milan diverted to Canada, reports of injuries on board

An American Airlines flight from Miami to Milan has been diverted to Canada, with reports of injuries on board.
Flight AA206 has been cleared to land at St John's International Airport in Newfoundland.
There are paramedics on the ground waiting for the plane's arrival.
Canadian newspaper The Telegram reports there are five ambulances at the airport, and "there are people with serious injuries on board".
This is a developing story. More information will be added as it comes to hand.

There’s a bumpy patch flying US to Europe crossing from land to Atlantic off Canada in clear weather, I’m sure it was much rougher than that with the nor’easter still spinning up there.

Turbulence, I bet.As I recall the story, a friend of the family was on a flight and needed to use the lavatory. On his way back to his seat, the plane hit some turbulence and before he knew it, his head hit the cabin ceiling and cracked a neck vertebrae.
