With just over a week until the first 2016 election contest, Donald Trump takes the lead in Iowa -- and maintains his big advantage in New Hampshire.

That’s according to the latest round of Fox News state polls on the Republican presidential nomination contest.

Trump bests Ted Cruz in Iowa and now receives 34 percent support among Republican caucus-goers. Cruz is second with 23 percent -- down a touch from 27 percent. Marco Rubio comes in third with 12 percent, down from 15 percent. No others garner double-digit support.

Hear!Hear! Cruz is already done. It was fun while it lasted. And for those of you true conservatives that may want to argue about it, We the really dumb ones, will lay off him the minute he folds. Publically. Promise.

Fox also had a poll showing that 33% of likely voters in Iowa are considering changing their choice during the Caucus.

Let’s see 34% less 33% = 22% and Cruz’s 23% plus 33% = 33%.

Don’t act surprised when Trump falls. David DoWorst was shocked when he ran a campaign as dirty as Trump against Cruz AND was poll projected to beat Cruz 55% to 45%. Cruz got nearly 65%!

Fox debate is the establishment’s last chance to bring him down. Their NRO gambit seems to have failed.

Beck needs an intervention. Ted should fire the staffer with the beck idea and then take away beck’s microphone.

From the inside its hard to see the forest for the trees.

We’ll soon see if the Primary/Caucus voters are equally blinded by innuendo, sneaky inferences and non-informational sound byte rhetoric all the while Trump lemmings so seem to be and whom are very willing to misrepresent facts and honor with childlike abandon.

Trump bullies any other candidate that show any potential to knock his game off track way beyond normally acceptable political competitiveness and continues well beyond when the bullied remains a viable competitor (Jeb for instance).

That bullying could very well be the catalyst attracting such excessively enthused support, as Trump can get away with being a bully they wish they could be in their lives.

Cruz on the other hand has kept his campaign rhetoric factual and honorable while being right, strong and steadfast. Even as Trump now incessantly attacks with dirty accusations cloaked as questions on subjects he knows are without substance.

I prefer a President that wasn’t willing to do just anything in a ‘end justify the means’ approach to get elected, with total disregard for the potentially resulting bad effects it may bring on America.

Good post. Delegates are awarded proportionately through March 15. As the apolitical people begin to tune in, Trump’s abrasivesness might wear on them.

A lot of Trump supporters think that he will win over Dems, but the political stuff my wife gets on Facebook from liberal family members is all anti-Trump.
