In a reversal from claims made on the campaign trail, Ted Cruz's presidential campaign is now saying the senator and his family do have health insurance and never lost coverage. The late night Friday revelation came more than 24 hours after Cruz had told a New Hampshire audience that he and his family were without health insurance and were scrambling to obtain new coverage--and used the claim to slam Obamacare for the mess he was in.
In statements to Bloomberg and Wall Street Journal, campaign spokeswoman Catherine Frazier blamed Cruz's false assertion that his family had lost their health insurance on a misunderstanding. She said an insurance broker told Cruz that BlueCross BlueShield of Texas was dropping his PPO plan, but Frazier said that the broker did not tell Cruz his family was automatically being transferred to the carrier's HMO plan.
"Based on this information, Sen. Cruz believed the family was uninsured and asked the broker to pull quotes immediately for a new policy," Frazier said.

New Beck/Cruz Three $ bill?
Crazy Beck swearing in Ted Cruz as Faux President. Another critical Waterloo event!
Remember Hilliarily is a Yale Lawschool Grad, another Ivy League Lawyer like the C guy.
Yeah, it’s insane.
I’m currently under water, but when things improve, I’ll work towards setting aside $12k for deductibles, and then get a catastrophic plan.
It’s as I said before.
Trump said a lot of bad things in his past, but they were only words.
Cruz actually voted for them.
Which one scares you more?
No, you are not “just saying”. You are rudely interjecting in someone else’s conversation to be a typo-Nazi and throwing around really big words for your simple-minded intellect— words like “idiot”.
Before you get all high and mighty and think you have in a stroke of the pen reduced the thrust of my arguments to ashes by discovering a typo, re-read the words you posted your worthless, thoughtless diatribe against and see with your own eyes, and comprehend with your own brain if you have any to spare (since you just got through sharing a piece of yours and may not have any left), and realize that I was discussing the candidates’ positions.
NOT MINE.
Every conservative organization that gives politicians ratings for their conservatism or lack thereof has given Ted Cruz high ratings. The other candidates are a mixed bag. I am simply stating facts. These facts may not agree with your feelings, but facts are stubborn things and really do not change to suit your feelings.
So either form a coherent, logical argument from YOUR “positoins” or go emote somewhere else.
Trump said some bad things that he since recanted, and for that matter they were only words and did not result in any kind of policy or law changes.
Cruz actually voted to take food out of the mouths of American families and rip the clothes off their backs.
Which one scares you more?
Don’t. How many of us, when we fell off the Cruz Express, wondered why he just kept pushing harder with the sophomoric excuses and the transparent debate techniques that are used when you can’t win on an issue?

I KNOW. Ugh, I am so embarrassed about some of the things I posted 6 months ago.
I really want to like Cruz. I really can’t any more.
In matters of volume, he probably has a good conservative voting record. But the HB1 vote, the TPA vote, and the wretched illegals mess are the proverbial dog turds in the brownie batter.
If it’s important enough, just a few bad votes can taint an entire record.
this is simply another example of Cruz’s pattern of having worked hard on having plausible deniability for each and every one of his falsehoods.
Man...
Why does it seem like disarray is occurring?
Why does it seem like some sort of cloud is settling over, ah, never mind ;S
Yep.
Signed up on September 5 & 6, 2015.
It’s like two fingers in the same sock puppet talking to one another.
Welcome to FR, by the way.
You make some excellent points. To me, the biggest thing Cruz and Obama have in common is rough childhoods. Obama was abandoned by both parents, turned over first to a tranny nanny-roommate, and finally shuttled off on the grandparents. Cruz had not one but two parents with alcohol issues, abandonment, and indications that the home life continued to be troubled even after the reconciliation (hence the eventual divorce).
A troubled home life takes its toll on a child in a range of ways. We like to think that the moment the child turns into an adult the troubles are a thing of the past. They persist, however, which is why people refer to generational issues. Obama’s carry-over problems from his sad and chaotic childhood are well known. Cruz’ are just beginning to surface.
I don’t blame you.
Now for the flip-side ...

[But mark my words — the Cruz campaign style is phony. He’s not ready. FRegards ...]
That must have been Beck’s idea. Swearing in ceremony to a guy without insurance.
“Uups. I made a speech that I have no insurance. What a dramatic moment, right? But I really did have insurance. I liquidated my assets to run for senate. Really dramatic of me. I felt like Jimmy Stewert. But then, well, I lied. Didn’t liquidate my assets. Still awsome though. Is this my good side? Or is this my good side?”
Thanks for the insight and comparisons. There appears to be a link besides being Ivy League Lawyers and first term $inators.
BOLs!
Ted, in Freefall, is giving us insight to the real Ted, not the carefully crafted image being sold by his crew.
Cruz doesn’t have to lie to slam Obama care. It shows desperation and deception.
There is no conservative candidate who will not have some mistakes to account for, especially if his track record is very long.
I still see Cruz as the candidate with the best track record, period.
I realize many here have felt the need to pick sides between Trump and Cruz. I do not. I can and do still support both. On the other hand, Trump is a wild card. He could be a really great president, or a really awful one.
With Cruz I know what to expect and believe he will govern conservatively. With Trump I can only take him at his word.
I really wish though that both had kept it a bit more civil and left open the possibility of Cruz being Trump’s VP pick. I think Cruz would have been smart to stick to his original approach of not criticizing Trump and just simply addressing policy differences respectfully. Together they would have been unbeatable. Who knows? Maybe there is still hope. But right now the divisiveness has even split Free Republic into factions. It’s a crying shame.
Yes, maybe the two have more in common than meets the eye. Your list is almost uncanny...like one of those online riddles that describes all the similarities of two different people. When the identities of the two people are finally revealed—what a shock.
One huge difference between Obama and Cruz is malignancy. As in, Obama is one-hundred percent Malignant Narcissist, and that’s what makes him so destructive. Take just one example. The ROE he oversaw for our armed forces. No sane person can look at them and not realize they are DESIGNED to get our troops killed. That is their very purpose—and they are working like a charm. Obama can only be pleased; his particular Personality Disorder thrives on absolute power—including the power of life and death. (Don’t forget, Obama actually said, ‘I’m very good at killing people.’)
There is none of that in Cruz. He may at times be truth challenged—and it certainly appears that he is—but he shows no signs at all of Malignant Narcissism. In that sense, he is in a different category from Obama altogether.
