Donald Trump has opened up a marginal lead over Ted Cruz in the voting on the Free Republic Caucus thread. Yesterday's vote revealed a 51.88% to 45.31% preference for Trump.
The Free Republic Caucus (daily) has been up and running for four days now. The first day was the 20th, and we're in the midst of voting on the fourth day now. Over 300 people have participated each day.
The Free Republic Caucus has been instituted to determine what the preference of FReepers was. It is being run each day leading up to and into the Caucus and Primary season, so that we can determine how dynamics of the day are impacting people's preferences here.
Does daily news impact our preferences? Do endorsements impact our preferences? Are arguments on the forum affecting our preferences? Are candidates actions impacting our preferences?
There are five important dynamics to the Caucus daily results.
1. What are FReepers preferences
2. Is there a trend over time?
3. How many people are contributing to the consensus
4. How large is the voice on Free Republic.
5. What caliber of people are representatuve of this forum.
It would be nice if thousands were participating in this activity. Those who review what is going on here should be able to see a robust participation. The more participation, the louder our voice will be.
Results of the prior day's voting is linked at the bottom of the initial post starting each new day's Free Republic Caucus. Once you see that day's vote, you'll be able to move backward to see other day's votes.
Statistics of the vote are presented. A graph reveals what the trend has been.
Rules are applied evenly and fairly to both main groups of supporters on the forum. The thread has been regligously dedicated to being a place where folks can go and vote without distrubance and infighting.
May the best man win.
If there are any questions regarding the Free Republic caucus, please ask away.
Once again, to those who have participated by voting for your prefence and abiding by the rules, I think the forum has been very well represented by your actions. Thank you very much.
If you consider that a six point lead is only 3 points plus one vote needed to flip, it’s a lot closer.
I want everyone to know, the lead could change with participation.
I appreciate your point, and I understand the thinking behind it. It wasn’t off base to address it.
On my next posting, I’ll change that.
It wasn’t meant as a slight or preferential treatment.
Interesting results.
Vote Trump
How do I participate? Is there a list?
Looked as hard as I could. Didn’t see me. You couldn’t find a shot of me????
I suppose we’ll take it in stride.
Thank you.
My eyes were playing tricks, and I saw “This is today’s Free Republic Opus thread”
All I know is that I don’t see me in there.
I feel slighted.
Things generally settle down after silly season. A bit of friction around the general, then either sadz or gladz following election day.
Well at least I was in there. I was the one with the white wool coat third from the right in the fourth row.
I appreciate what your doing. Is there a way I can just absentee vote for the next 10 days? It’s kind of tedious to keep finding the thread to post to each day.
I call bs.. lots of registrations right after he declared... some fake trump scooper posting fifty threads a day. Meanwhile true constitutionalist are trying to get them to understand sovereignty.. eminent domain.. and some other basics. Trump says he will.. force Israel.. force apple.. force is corruptocrat tactic.. not free market.
Rigged.. clearly on the Democrats payroll. Trump.. the only Democrat who can win.
Not all voters are that crazy thankfully. But of course there are always some.
The only thing I would do different is make it weekly, rather than daily because real life events like blizzards and such will impact daily sample size introducing variation that might generate incorrect conclusions later when we look back at this.
I mean missing data can never be fixed through averages. For example, if this storm was in Iowa, the state that appears to be Cruz's strongest, it might punish him more than the others. Likewise New York or New Hampshire, etc, for different candidates. On the other hand maybe it keeps people inside so they can participate more?
Seeing how this storm has completely shutdown the District of Criminals ( not to mention NYC ), I am not complaining whatsoever. I wish it would stay there permanently.
I don’t want to add one thing in here that we’ll start bickering about.
My state went solid. Look at yours.
Let me consider it. I have a noted difficulty in warming up to other people’s ideas sometimes, so let me think about this.
Here is my initial reaction, but I don’t want to discourage you or say it is a bad idea that I’ll never go for. I might.
Do you have any idea how hard it was just to get folks to enter “Vote Name”? Seriously. I haven’t gotten them to conform on the name yet. Then you want me to start worrying about how states will be spelled, abbreviated. I don’t even know all the state abbreviations. LOL
Do you have any idea how hard it as to get folks to refrain from political grandstanding on the thread?
None of this is a tallying issue. I run the numbers each night in about five minutes. Truth be told, I’ve started running them several hours early, then adding in any that come up after that.
What takes a few moment is creating graphics for the results post, then test and moving that to my web site.
I probably spend about 15 minutes on it total.
Over time I would like to run consensus votes on other topics.
Bias can be used in the manner I used it.
FReepers were biased toward’s Trump.
That’s not evil. It’s not if they were biased toward Cruz. It’s just a statement of fact.
“I call bs.. lots of registrations right after he declared...”
This stupid conspiracy theory again...
“some fake trump scooper posting fifty threads a day.”
Funny how most of the threads I see are from Cruz people posting every damn thing from “Cruz News” and sometimes you guys post the same news story (as long as it’s friendly to Cruz) 4-5 times a day. If the comments aren’t to your liking, it will get re-posted again within 2 hours@
“Meanwhile true constitutionalist...”
And end with a virtue signal.
Yeoman’s job D1. Bravo zulu.
