The Republican National Committee announced late Thursday that the venerable conservative magazine National Review had been dropped as a debate sponsor after it published an issue devoted to why voters should reject Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
RNC spokesman Sean Spicer confirmed to Buzzfeed News that the magazine had been dropped as a sponsor of the Feb. 25 debate in Houston, saying "a debate moderator can't have a predisposition."
"We expected this was coming," National Review publisher Jack Fowler wrote in a blog post early Friday, calling the RNC move a "small price to pay for speaking the truth about The Donald."

So, “a debate moderator can’t have a predisposition.” Really? Then why the hell has the RNC accepted a long succession of debate moderators who have the predisposition to what to destroy all Republican candidates with the exception of “moderates” sufficiently indistinguishable from Democrats that the electorate will prefer a Democrat simply for the sake of genuineness?
This seems to tell us that that RNC really regards Cruz as a greater threat to the Washington status-quo than Trump.
I see this as a good thing....
Good post!.....I like your mom!
I am probably the only person I know who has ever heard of National Review. It’s anti-Trump article will have less impact than an ant crawling up an elephant’s hind leg with rape on its mind.
The effect the article has on me is to significantly diminish the esteem I had for the various authors.
Glen Beck isn’t qualified to shovel horse-sh*t at a circus. He’s a freaking AM DJ for God’s sake.
Conservative elites?
Lol. New buzzword?
Why must folks abandoned principles just to maintain the idea that their guy is perfect? Is obvious who you’re pushing for just by that statement alone.
I’ll never understand why people on this side get so hell bent over their support of a PERSON, instead of letting the issues and facts dictate things. This goes for everyone who is guilty.
Lol... I barely do. She is one tough piece of shoe leather. My poor wife trembles every time she sees her. My wife is a tough one too, just my mother is the “Uber Bitch”. Kinda like an alpha male, but with everyone. She does like Trump. Said, he is a very nice man. I don’t get it. I think he is a tough SOB. Mom thinks he is “nice”.
More fodder for the Trump as the Only Democrat who can win with the help of the GOPe file. It is the only logical conclusion. Any true Constitutionalist rejected Trump a long time ago.
“less impact than an ant crawling up an elephant’s hind leg with rape on its mind.”
Please let me steal that. It is hilarious.
Steal away.
Is that a dumb response or what? Bad assertions, bad conclusions, with a predictable and expected bad result?
A gal can dream. <^..^>
Ooops.....OK : )
I think they have to save face. They can’t control what is about to take place with Trump and they can’t show the people that they’ve lost control.
My point? Why don't you get your mom to become a FReeper? She'd meet a lot of like-minded folks here. (and a lot not so like-minded)
I have a roll of Charmin that’s more venerable than NR.
At one time, Jonah seemed to have some good instints and insight, but he’s drifted off into the weeds and turned to mush.
Good move on the part of the RNC.
Appreciate it actually!
I was referring to the writers at National Review... they see themselves as ‘conservative elites’...
As far as Cruz supporters here at FreeRepublic? I was one before I switched to Trump. They make sense to me. The people I don’t ‘get’ are the ones who would elect someone like Lindsey Graham or Jeb Bush...
Basically the Trotskyite wing of the GOP is staging a counter-counter revolution against Trump and his patriotic Americans.
