National Review, the conservative magazine founded by William F. Buckley, will publish a special issue on Friday opposing Donald Trump's bid for the presidency, according to a source with knowledge of the issue's contents.
The issue will feature a blistering editorial that labels Trump a threat to conservatism, as well as essays by 22 prominent conservative thinkers from various ideological factions, in opposition to Trump's candidacy, the source said.
"Donald Trump is a menace to American conservatism who would take the work of generations and trample it underfoot on behalf of a populism as heedless and crude as The Donald himself," the editorial states.
The issue, first reported by Jonathan Martin of The New York Times, comes as conservative pundits and GOP leaders debate which of the two leading Republican candidates -- Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz -- poses the greater threat to the party.
Rich Lowry, the editor of National Review, spent weeks reaching out to fellow conservatives, ranging from The Weekly Standard's William Kristol to RedState's Erick Erickson, to commission essays for the issue.

smh It’s just incredible. I feel like we’re living in some kind of alternate universe.
These people are too stupid to live.
Sick puppies alright.
We’ve been praying for a guy like Trump since Reagan.
Now the long knives are out.
Resorting to posting fake tweets? Pathetic!
++++
Not necessarily doubting you but how do we know it’s a fake?
Mercer.....or, this guy....

And, several connected dots, here....
And, here....
To whom is this issue addressed? I have read NR since the 60’s (when Buckley was my hero) and I support Trump.
Who do they think they are? The College of Cardinals?
What do they think they are doing? Having a dramatic influence on witless vulgarians?
God bless these folks, who are intelligent and well-meaning.
But they are becoming hysterical; they are looking absurd; and they will most likely have an effect opposite of what they intend, if at all.
For one thing....Glenn Beck issued a public apology for posting the fake Trump tweet. It’s been discussed all over this forum, over the past few days since Beck posted it and gotten completely eviscerated for it.
Tonight on Greta there was a discussion about a 45 million gas station in Afghanistan that should have cost no more than $500k. Of course with 19 trillion in debt this sort of thing has happened over and over and over in government.
Enter Trump...with vast deep experience of being under budget and ahead of schedule. We need that kind of thinking at the top and then we can watch as it seeps through the corrupt system. I’m not saying it will be easy..getting the lips detached from the gravy train will be tough.
And meanwhile..if we don’t do something about immigration we won’t even be a country anymore so first things first.
Excellent post, Sister Long.
Let’s remember these hacks are Bush / Rubio supporters.
They are NOT Cruz supporters either.
Panic has set in.
You’re the only one keeping the thread going.
I liked your post better when you were talking about beating the crap out of your children. It speaks more to your character than your incessant bitching.
Thank you for those links. More reading to do :)
Heck Jeb Bush is more conservative then the Donald. What’s happened to FR is bizzare.
Thanks.
Panic HAS set in.
I was trying to help, hoping you had learned something. I guess you will believe whatever the MSM tells you. Good luck.

Jeb is more conservative than Trump. Hmmmm....Okay...that’s a new one!
You do realize that the boss supports both Trump and CRuz and has declared Trump’s many tough positions as being conservative.
Things like building a wall on our southern border, deporting the illegals, sanctuary cities, muslim/terrorist country immigrant/visas (which 0bie has now been forced to amend policy on), etc, etc would not even be being discussed, this campaign season (reference all other campaign seasons), if not for Trump.
And, you think Jeb is more conservative than Trump. Are you sure you’re at the right forum?
The good news is that Obama seems to be well aware of the situation. His comments have led me to believe that he understands how the economy works on a comprehensive level. He has also surrounded himself with very competent people, and thatâs the mark of a strong leader. I have conï¬dence he will do his best, and we have someone who is serious about resolving the problems we have and will be facing in the future. To me that is very good news.
Well, one thing that’s positive about the NR doing this special edition of “Get Trump”. They will be giving us a roadmap to every contributor to this edition that is a RINO GOPe. We’ll have a list of all the heavy hitter RINO’s, and can check it twice, to find out who’s naughty and find out whose even naughtier. We’ll have our own hit list. Thanks, NR.
Hoax Bro.

catfish1957: I have never seen this tweet. He admitted voting for Obama? Damn!!!!
I don’t get my news from the MSM. I only read FR for news.
Good post but I’m afraid it’s wasted here.
Trump supporters have become like The Walking Dead. They travel in a tight group following blindly. They make sounds but it’s not actual speech. And they will eat you alive in a New York minute.
