National Review, the conservative magazine founded by William F. Buckley, will publish a special issue on Friday opposing Donald Trump's bid for the presidency, according to a source with knowledge of the issue's contents.
The issue will feature a blistering editorial that labels Trump a threat to conservatism, as well as essays by 22 prominent conservative thinkers from various ideological factions, in opposition to Trump's candidacy, the source said.
"Donald Trump is a menace to American conservatism who would take the work of generations and trample it underfoot on behalf of a populism as heedless and crude as The Donald himself," the editorial states.
The issue, first reported by Jonathan Martin of The New York Times, comes as conservative pundits and GOP leaders debate which of the two leading Republican candidates -- Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz -- poses the greater threat to the party.
Rich Lowry, the editor of National Review, spent weeks reaching out to fellow conservatives, ranging from The Weekly Standard's William Kristol to RedState's Erick Erickson, to commission essays for the issue.

Yes, I have reported it twice. Mods be sleeping :-(
... At least their principled. With Trump I havenât seen people go so gaga over a candidate since Barack Hussein Obama.
So true. Bambi and Trump have these things in common, they both trash and humiliate those who do not kiss their respective butts, and they both are/were whatever the devotee thinks they are.
Wow. You’ve got welts all over after this thread. Cheers mate and keep your chin up!
Probabely!!!
Heck Jeb Bush is more conservative then the Donald. What’s happened to FR is bizzare.
Thank you for your response.
I appreciate that you have asked to have it taken down.

Projecting, again, Lib?
So excuse me if that hurts a few feelings. I donât give a damn about your feelings just trying to save the Republic for which it stands!

Got it.
I have my first chance to vote for a constitutional conservative and that who I will vote for.
You think after all the names I have been called that would hurt my feelings. I am deliriously happy to hear somewhat finally admit it.
That’s a very good question.
Heck I will have to read Mark Steyn...he’s not only funny he is brilliant!

oh...and i think the barbarians are already inside the gates so its even more necessary and I love pistachios!
Lol it’s all good. Freepers had every right to get upset about a fake. Wish I had known before I posted.... O.o
I am probably not going to buy and read the special issue. What I wonder is this: looking at the position of America today, domestically and internationally, how would things be different if the scribblers at National Review hadn’t been scribbling away these all these years? How have they “stood athwart history, yelling Stop,” and made it stick?
good luck to you in getting the post pulled. I really do hope that you give much consideration to actually knowing who the candidates are.
Honestly, you have gotten helpful posts here from Trump supporters, unlike fielding the Sarah Palin is a whore posts I have been swatting at. Please understand that if you had known both candidates, you would not have fallen for that fake tweet.
On this forum they all love Trump no matter what he has ever said or done, how many lives he has ruined, they cheer each time he humiliates anyone, they post 100s of times donnie’s campaign lies about Cruz on the BC, GS, ethanol and on and on. They nitpick Cruz to the bone on nonissues and all donnie is just peachy.
Interesting question for the general population.
I didn't know he arose. I already wished him a Rest in Peace a few years ago. Now I have to take it back? Not fair I say!
Not necessarily. Trump has such a history of donating to Dems and Rinos that the quote seemed very believable. :-(
I don’t know a single major position that Trump has, that is not shared in some way by other more thoughtful GOP candidates. What that tells me is that a whole lot of Trump supporters are not the most informed people on what other candidates positions are.
How do I see Trump? He is, and he has been, the big diversion, made to order to put someone besides Hillary as the top-of-the-news story until her nomination is clinched. Minus Trump with his bombast Hillary’s ongoing problems would have gotten a ton more top billing. Trump is doing just fine, like Perot, as a spoiler.
If these guys had done their job Cruz would be a shoe-in.
Obama would never have even run.
They are and have been useless. I look forward to their replacements EFFECTIVELY fighting socialism from Trump, TINOs, Dems and whomever.
(This applies to Erica and NR at least)
I wonder how many of the websites trace back to Mercer? It is now obvious there is a coordinated attack on Trump.
Time to ask, who benefits?
ha, ha, ha........ they are overthinking it
philosophical conservative theory is the very antithesis of the forces propelling Trump
one wonders how much JEB money is going down the special edition rat hole?
