Donald Trump is the runaway favorite right now in Minnesota, as heâs up by 17 points over Marco Rubio. 37-20%
Trumpâs support seems to come from across all demographics, save for Hispanic voters, which gives him the rare opportunity to get close to the 40% mark in a state poll. This early in the primary season, with so many other contenders, receiving well over 1/3rd of the votes puts him in an enviable position.
Marco Rubio also pulls in a significant number of voters at 20%, which puts him in line to get a fair share of the available delegates. Rubio and Trump are the only two candidates comfortably over the 10% viability threshold. Cruz, Carson, and Bush are all hovering near the 10% mark. All three of them will probably still be in the race come March 1st, and the 15% combined from the other 7 candidates and undecided voters could possibly push all three of them into viability.

Interesting thing is Trump is way ahead in the majority of these polls with others jockeying for 2nd place far behind.
I grew up in that part of the country and understand it well. Midwesterners (especially in ethnically non-diverse areas) are polite and uncomfortable with combative confrontation unless it has to do with football or ice hockey. Trump and Cruz turn a lot of people off for exactly that reason.
Rubio is seen as a bridge between conservatives and the GOPe. It is an ill-informed hope given his past history, but a hope nevertheless.
I guess you didn’t bother looking at the top of the poll.

My statement was to explain why Rubio was running strong in second place. There are still a lot of dopes out there who see him as the compromise candidate between the GOPe and conservatives.
3rd place, not second. Trump, Cruz, Rubio.
If ISIS had a nuclear weapon and said they wanted one of our states to keep them from detonating it, I would enthusiastically give up Minnesota. A cesspool of morons, moochers and mouth-breathers. A state of the truly useless. Fargo was based on stereotypes and you know what they say about stereotypes. I used to think it was the accent but Minnesotans are really that dim and hapless.
If you already have, thank you.
Did you think about that remark carefully before posting? I should hope not. I'm sure that there are many decent people living in Minnesota.
Speaking for myself, I'm not giving up any U.S. state to ISIS.
Maybe MN will go for Jebbie, as it has never before gone Bush. The people there claim to be “fair”.
Trump, Rubio and Cruz in Minnesota
Back in December Cruz won a straw poll here in MN, with Trump coming in 4th, behind Rubio and Fiorina.
What a difference a month makes.

Idiotic statement. You’ve obviously haven’t spent much time in Minnesota as I have. Get away from the Twin Cities and they are good, solid people.
Yes, you’re right. I stand corrected.
Ethanol push ought to do well there. One of Trump’s deals is to increase fed subsidies use and content of the sruff in regular gas.
