Trump was shocked that Cruz came out against ethanol subsidies because that's the only way you can win Iowa:
But he's very happy to announce an endorsement from Sarah Palin, who called to end ALL energy subsidies in 2011:
Asked Tuesday whether she supports the federal subsidy of ethanol, an always critical issue in the presidential nominating cycle, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin went one step further and called for the elimination of all energy subsidies.
"I think that all of our energy subsidies need to be relooked at today and eliminated," Palin told RCP during a quick stop at a coffee shop in this picturesque town tucked into the south-central Pennsylvania countryside. "And we need to make sure that we're investing and allowing our businesses to invest in reliable energy products right now that aren't going to necessitate subsidies because, bottom line, we can't afford it."
If she runs for president, Palin plans to make energy issues a centerpiece of her campaign and will tout her record as governor on restructuring the oil tax regime in Alaska and initiating a massive natural gas pipeline project, which currently remains in limbo.
Her emphatic stance against ethanol subsidies may ruffle some feathers in the nation's first voting state of Iowa, but it will also win her kudos from fiscal conservatives who praised former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty when, in a speech announcing his candidacy in Des Moines, he called for the phasing out of the federal subsidies that cost taxpayers about $5 billion last year.
Right... That’ll work...
No it was not to increase the fuel supply. It was “green” and “renewable” that big government loves. It had nothing to do with supply of oil or economics.
Not to worry! Sarah Palin is a failed Governor from a cold state. She can’t have much of a following among Conservatives. The Natural Born Canadian can pull this out!
Cruz wants to eliminate the subsidy in 5 years. Wouldn't it be smarter to just determine what the equates to over a 5 year period and just cut a check? That way, there wouldn't be 5 years of administrative costs associated with it and whatever government infrastructure there is could be eliminated. Money saved.
The term "renewable energy" is so over used. Once it's used, it's gone.
Contrast that with people like Jeb and Rubio who have literally pissed away hundreds of millions of dollars on ads and traditional media that haven't moved their poll numbers tenths of percentages.
Aren’t you getting tired of this?
I mean...you get up in the morning before you brush you teeth... and it’s non stop Trump bashing...
What’s with you, My Friend...? Serioiusly...what is with you?
Please join us. We need your energy...
Cruz and Paul and Rubio etc.... their time will come...
But they are the establishment holding to their donors...
Their time will come... but not now...
Please join us!!!!
This was an unforgettable evening...
Exactly. The man is a liberal and his record proves it. He can and will say anything necessary to fool the gullible. And fool them he has.
Yes, why...
There’s significantly less energy in a gallon of ethanol verses a gallon of gasoline so your car gets less mileage requiring more fuel to travel the same distance.
It is all about cronyism and going “green”. Never mind the “green” part isn’t actually true.
Mayhaps Sooper is an illegal after all? Would splain his leanings.
I hate ethanol. Discouraging that he sucking up, especially so soon.
We can thank Trump for single-handedly taking out JEB, the media, the GOPe & their big donors and even setting the dems back a notch or two. And he has barely spent any money doing it while the corrupt GOPe and related PACs have wasted tens if not hundreds of millions trying to hold on to their power base. And I don't feel humiliated a bit. Grateful that PC is being destroyed and the rules rewritten.

This is all you have? Puh-lease...
I am not going to agree with everything Trump advocates.
Do I like corn subsidies for Ethanol? No.
There are probably ten things Trump is going to do, and perhaps even 20 that cause me to think this is the least of our problems.
M’Kay ... gotcha.

A Frightening History of the Militant Greens
http://jackidaily.com/2016/01/08/a-frightening-history-of-the-militant-greens/
Robert Zubrinâs book, Merchants of Despair, shows how some of the most tragic events of the 19th and 20th centuries were inspired by radical environmentalists who used the âgreenâ agenda to mask scary ambitions.
Trump actually wants federal regulators to force higher percentages of ethanol blended into gasoline.
Again he wants big government to force it on American citizens.
Was that sarcastic or am I too shell shocked these days?
