Ted Cruz Played Donald Trump Like a Fiddle
The Corner ^ | 1/16/16 | Rich Lowry

Posted on 01/16/2016 9:05:46 PM PST by TBBT

Ted Cruz and Donald Trump are, not surprisingly, now in a total war. One school of thought is that Cruz made a mistake in cozying up to Trump for so long now that The Donald is lambasting him in the harshest and most demagogic terms. I don’t think that’s right. Even though Cruz’s “friendship” was transparently insincere–and often cringe-inducing–it was very shrewd, and the timing of the break-up is too. It was very unlikely that the truce could last forever, and the timing of the open hostilities means that Cruz can blame Trump for firing the first shot (the Canadian stuff) and, more importantly, attack Trump from a much stronger political position. With his surge over the last month or so, Cruz has amassed an extraordinary reserve of credibility on the right. A recent poll in Iowa had him at 91-6 favorable-unfavorable among tea partiers. If anyone has the standing to make the case against Donald Trump, it is Ted Cruz. And he won’t be making a “golly, Donald, why can’t you be nicer?” case against Trump, but a hard-hitting conservative one (and while a divided and feckless establishment, such as it is, watches from the sidelines). If there was any tactical error here it was on the part of Donald Trump. It has been pretty clear for a long time that Cruz had great potential in Iowa, but back when Trump could have dropped a bomb on Cruz before he took off, the mogul was either taken in by Cruz’s submissiveness, or willing to play along with the terms of their faux friendship.

Got to remind the folks of Iowa that Donald Trump thinks you are stupid.

And he makes fun of handicapped people in wheelchairs....

Donald Trump is a douche bag.

It speaks volumes of people who would make fun of and humiliate those who are weak, defenseless, handicapped.

Consider the source, Rich Lowry. He doesn’t like either Trump or Cruz, so he’s just being a “$hit disturber.”

I love how the likes of Rich Lowry of the GOPe National Review, a consummate RINO, is now cheerleading for Ted Cruz, the alleged outsider, non-GOPe. What a joke. Poor Rich, he’s reduced to Ted Cruz now, as the GOPe has run out of any other viable white knights to throw up against Trump, and Ted Cruz is all that is left. Humors the heck out of me. Grovel to Ted Cruz now, Rich. He’s all you’ve got now. Embrace the heretofore unspeakable thought.

The point is that if Ted Cruz is really a Conservative then he would withdraw from the race because his father was not an American. The fact that he stays in the race proves he is not a Conservative but believes that the Constitution is a living document that means what you want it to mean.

Wait! I thought Ted was the one they feared.

They don't like Trump, but they FEAR Ted!

Not so much huh.

Are you a Dem? You sound just like one. The homeless, poor, downtrodden. You mean Republicans you.

Hired? Maybe. They like to post the same story, but justify it because it’s the same story posted on 7 different blogs. OR they wait a day or two and spam with new threads.

I tend to think it’s more obsessive compulsion than Ted Cruz paying these mooks. Well, who knows really. I know the Santorum campaign monitors FR. Don’t think they had anyone posting for them ever.

Donald Trump is a douche bag.

Finally we need a A hole as president. I know you like the mamby pamby types like Obama and Cruz, I I was a complete and utter JERK as President. So sick of this warm and fuzzy nonsense you guys want. Are you sick of it after 8 years and you want us to put up with a soft President in Cruz. That is crazy. I want a Rambo type President who won’t take crap. Cruz is too polished and political and sleazy as they come.

CRuz neutered himself on live tee vee. Trump stitched up the wound.

It will go down as an epic, political faux pas moment....similar to Nixon’s sweaty upper lip and Quayle’s getting witch-slapped by Bentsen.

Rich is suffering from severe amnesia. After the second debate, Rich announced that Carly had emasculated Trump and Trump was finished.

What? You mean Trump is still around these months later? Or maybe Richie has no clue what he’s blabbing about, then or now.

“One is a conservative the other is not.” That’s all that should matter when it comes down to it.
