Young women are not as enthusiastic as older women are about Hillary Clinton because they just donât care enough about the abortion issue, Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said in an interview with The New York Times.
The Florida congresswoman also asserted that sheâs been on the receiving end of harsh criticism over her leadership style because sheâs a woman.
One of the themes of the Democratic primary race so far is the support among young voters for Clintonâs main Democratic rival, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders . But in addition to the generational divide is a gender disparity. More young women are supporting Sanders than are supporting Clinton.
According to a poll released last month by Harvardâs Institute of Politics, 40 percent of women aged 18 to 29 support the 73-year-old Sanders. Thirty-eight said they support Clinton. The gender-generation gap was also the subject of a New York Times article published last month.
The headline is what's most significant, but this one is also worth repeating for its audacity.
I am at a loss for words. That is so Illogical and wrong it is truly the sign of the times that this country has lost it’s way.
Is this really the issue upon which they want to define women? This is really sad.
Liberals are scared to death that they will lose support for abortion. It is their Holy Grail of “rights” and they believe that there should be absolutely no restrictions on abortion.
Existential Cage Theory
Get a cage
Put the liberal in the cage
Weld the door shut
Walk away
It is existential for the survival of civilization and in fact, humanity. We cage them now or they kill us later. History is clear on what liberals do when they achieve a certain level of power.
Debbie, Debbie, Debbie.. that's just not true.
We don't like your style simply because you're an a$$hole.
No. This is calculated. Whats-her-name Shultz knows Hillary is going down, to be replaced by Lezzy Warren.
“History is clear on what liberals do when they achieve a certain level of power.”
Yep, all over the damned world.
Democrats.
The REAL party of death.
No denying it. It is what it is. And what it is is the truth.
And more people would vote Republican if they loved God!
Like the Republican Mitt Romney that profits from BBQing the dead and dismembered babies his own laws helped create?
I don’t THINK SO.
Ole Debbie Wasserperson loves abortion. I guess for her it was good that her mother apparently didn’t. If Wasserperson’s mother had, we wouldn’t have to contend with this pox on our society.
It IS the issue by which they’ve defined women (and motivated them to form a political bloc) for decades; now they are trying the same with younger women who just wish someone would have a baby with them...
Hillary’s new theme song:
Kill the babies. Kill the babies.
Kill the babies. Kill the babies. And sell their little baby feet.
Kill the babies. Kill the babies. And sell their little heads.
Kill the babies. Kill the babies.
Kill the babies. Kill the babies.
and sell their little eyes...
Kill the babies. Kill the babies - say good bye, good bye and vote for lies and lies and lies and lies and lies....
Damn she has done such a Great Job electing Democrats
I am convinced that we are at a significant moment in American history and that we are wasting it.
For the first time in a generation, a majority of Americans call themselves "pro-life." We are not discussing this for the same reason why we didn't used to talk about immigration -the GOP "establishment" decided long ago that that talking about this issue does more harm than good, and so has taken it off the table. The only related debate questions have been about Planned Parenthood.
Meanwhile, four Supreme Court Justices are over the age of 70, three of those were appointed by Republican presidents, and at least two of these are dependably pro-life.
Over the last eight years, we on FR have seen so many changes happen that most of us believed never would come to pass. I, for one, am very concerned that, given the wrong set of circumstances, we could very easily be looking at a situation where it is perfectly legal in this country for a woman to abort her baby (for any reason) right up until her due date -and perhaps even later. Ms. Wasserman Shultz and others have been very open about the fact that that is their ultimate goal. If that does happen, I for one will not be consoled by the fact that "at least there are a lot less Mexicans in this country than there used to be."
That is why we need to be discussing this subject on this website. Regularly. The remaining viable Republican candidates must to be put on the record about their plans to change the climate of culturally endorsed abortion that disgraces this nation.
Black Americans need to hear about the genocide that is ongoing in their community, with DNC complicity.
The foreign policy and immigration debates that are now taking place are long overdue and ultimately constructive. But, for me anyway, no issue will ever be more important than the sanctity of human life, and the destructive effect that ignoring it has had on our culture.
In other words, Wasserman-Schultz is a complete idiot.
