Coulter: Cruz is not a natural born citizen
The Hill ^

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter, who has been boosting Donald Trump for president, took to Twitter on Wednesday to declare that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is not a natural born citizen.

Ann Coulter @AnnCoulter

Same lawyers who said anchor babies are in the Constitution now tell us being born outside U.S to 1 American parent = natural born citizen.

Ann Coulter @AnnCoulter

NYT: Cruz was born outside the U.S. to 1 American parent: "Under the Constitution this makes him a 'natural born citizen.'” Absolutely false

Coulter joins Trump in questioning whether Cruz can legally be president.

“Republicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: ‘Do we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?’ That’d be a big problem,” Trump told The Washington Post on Tuesday.

I see the usual mean spirited personal attacks from Cruzers found you.

Huh?

I tried it with text from the excerpt at the top of the page:

“Republicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: ‘Do we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?’ That’d be a big problem,” Trump told The Washington Post on Tuesday.

It converted it to this:

“Republicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: †Do we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?â€TM Thatâ€TMd be a big problem,” Trump told The Washington Post on Tuesday.

I sure would like to have a tool to convert this salad of special characters. Manually is tiresome.

The Constitution did not define natural born citizen, but many of the framers of the Constitution also wrote the Naturalization Act of 1790 which defined it this way:

The Act also establishes the United States citizenship of certain children of citizens, born abroad, without the need for naturalization: "the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond Sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born Citizens".

Coulter is right. And she's a far superior warrior of the Constitution than Cruz is

Dumbest post of the day.

But it's early.

Pretty much settles it doesn’t it? No, we’re living in postmodernism where only narratives matter. If the narrative survives, if it’s Trumpeted loud enough, it’s true.

Bump and thanks.

Looks like she forgot to eat her usual meal of twigs and bark today; her brain is missing the usual 100 daily calories.

The senate approved Juan Mcain and Barry Obama. Why not Ted Cruz?

There was never this much hubbub about Obama. People wanting physical proof of Obama’s eligibility were called birthers and racists. They even tried to say McCain was ineligible (not due to senility) because he was born in Panama (military family on a US military base).

"I tried it with text from the excerpt at the top of the page:"

You have to take the excerpt from the original source before it gets messed up.

Trump has changed his position specifically on Cruz’s eligibility a couple times already. IN the past he’s said Cruz was eligible. How is that not “modifying” to gain more support in the election?

The emaciated moron said the same thing not long after she fell in love with her latest political crush.

The chronic lack of calories has affected her brain function

They “dated” for quite some time. I judge people by the company you keep and more so the ones you uh huh. Ann is not a true conservative. She is a car salesman.

I hope the Dems to take this up and get it before a court so the matter could be settled.

They won't and for the same reason all those Obama birther suits got thrown out; lack of standing to sue.

Cruz would be wonderful on the court.

He will be even more wonderful in the Oval Office.

IN the past he’s said Cruz was eligible

He's eligible but would that prevent someone from challenging it? That's what it appears Trump was saying.

Trump said he wouldn't want to see that get in Ted's way but with the libs, you can't put anything past them.

Realistically, only a few challenges would need to be made in specific states to do potential damage to Ted.

When you look at the twisted logic Justice Roberts used for Obamacare, is Ted really safe?

NO, Ted is not safe. On at least two occasions that I know of Scalia has indicated he thinks Jus Soli may be required.
