To stoke up public resentment for those taking a stand the media was busy showing pictures of people with holstered side arms. Never did they mention that Oregon is an open carry state.

After the ranchers settled the issue and served time for “arson” they feds just HAD TO step in and give them 4 more years sentence...

They had no criminal intent, they set selective brush fires to clear out deadwood and PREVENT FUTURE WILDFIRES (something the government is too stupid to do on its own)

But they needed to make them sit in jail for 4 more years for that...

The left hates them. The media and all democrats are going to push for the administration to suppress them.

I wonder if this is going to be the time when the government fires on citizens.

A well written article based on facts.

Which means it will be ignored by the MSM.

If so, it won't be the first time it has happened.

Saw the former director FBI on fox yesterday (check my posts for the link). He said these guys need a forum and they’re gonna get it. He said a lot of people in America are upset about these same issues. He said no one is going to fire on them and he hopes they don’t do something foolish.
He said a month of waiting would not be a big deal.

They know, they know, that shooting at them could start a civil war in the country, esp with Obama and his new gun laws.
I also suspect the FBI could be a bit sympathetic.
From reading their books I know Hoover hired conservatives.

Yeah these ranchers are getting screwed, I agree something needs to be done to reel in the over reaching power the federal government is grabbing, but an armed standoff is probably not the answer. I certainly cant understand why New York can collect property taxes on about 98% of the land in the state where Nevada can only collect taxes on less than 5% of theirs... its just not right! I am also NOT suggesting we go in guns blazing and arrest everybody either. Cut power and wait them out...

This is out in the middle of nowhere if you compare this with a bunch of eco terrorists hanging off and closing down a major bridge over a federal waterway and the reaction to that. Just a few months ago, in Portland, they hung off the Saint John’s bridge to block a shell ice breaker from going down the river. The bridge got closed down, the Feds closed the river, yet hundreds of kayakers got in the river to block the ships path anyway. They put numerous peoples lives at risk, caused thousands of man hours and millions of dollars to be wasted and 10s of thousands of peoples lives were impacted for at least a week. Besides a few trespassing fines in the end, for greenpeace and the people physically holding the bridge hostage, I believe there were only two arrests of protesters that started swinging at police officers on camera. Doubting they even spent any time in jail for that.

Out here in Pittsburgh our local news didn’t even go that far. They showed pictures of people with sheathed hunting knives.

Keep us up to date. The ranchers need to be heard, so do the farmers and ranchers in Florida and elsewhere. The land grab going on by the feds has one driving force, AGENDA 21 of the UN. It’s been going on for years and the encroachments on our liberties are increasing. We continually have the government trying to shove something down our throats. On the Treasure coast they are trying to push a railroad down our throats which will completely destroy our peaceful existence. The railroad will provide a hub where people will be forced to live in stack and pack conditions with the ulterior motive of decreasing people’s rights and choice to drive instead of take public transportation. It is too complex to write here, but we are fighting the issue and so far have been able to stop it.... but for how long? Look at Common Core. How does the fed gov’t have the right to shove anti-American BS down the throats of our children? The constitution does not give the feds the right to a department of education to dictate to us all. On and on. Wake up America.

I doubt that cutting power is an option that will have any effect. The place is so far our in the middle of nowhere that if it has power, it is probably from a generator. I am also certain that those who are there are perfectly capable of surviving without power.

Thank you for the best clear explanation yet of what is happening in Harney County.

IF the father & son cannot run their ranch, they have no way to even pay part of the $400,000 the Feds are demanding.

IF that $400,000 is not paid, the Feds will buy the ranch & kick out a multi-generation ranching family.

The Feds, with the assistance of all the Greenies, want to remove all farmers & ranchers from their lands.

Go to Wildlands Project for more info.

Excellent article coherently detailing the background and reasons behind the conflict in Oregon between the BLM and the Hammond family ranch.
