HOUSTON, Texas - The Cruz for President campaign today announced a new TV ad, "Invasion", highlighting the impact of illegal immigration on American jobs. The ad makes the point by showing men and women dressed in business clothes running across the border as Cruz describes how the immigration debate would take on a different tone if those illegally entering the country were taking the jobs of lawyers, bankers, or journalists.
Cruz notes that as President he will triple the border patrol, build a wall that works, and make securing the border a top priority. The ad will run statewide in New Hampshire beginning January 5. The ad may be viewed here.

CRUZ: I understand that when the mainstream media covers immigration, it doesn’t often see it as an economic issue. But I can tell you, it is a very personal economic issue.
And I will say, the politics of it would be very, very different if a bunch of lawyers or bankers were coming across the Rio Grande…
…Or if a bunch of people with journalism degrees were coming over and driving down the wages in the press. Then we would see stories about the economic calamity that is befalling our nation.
If I’m elected president, we will triple the Border Patrol. We will build a wall that works. We will secure the border.
I’m Ted Cruz and I approve this message.

Build the fing wall! We don’t need more homeland folks who do nothing.
I like it.
funny stuff, I like the tactics.
Why would Ted come out with a build the wall ad almost a year after Trump thumped us with it ?
Granted ... it's a different theme (elites rather than pregnant girls and murderers/rapists) ...
still ....
Too little too late. Nice try "Me Too" Ted.
Now THAT is a five star ad, from concept to production with an implicit dig at Rubio. Perfect.
Morning joe said the add was creepy. I thought the add was clever and great.
But I’m still voting for Trump.
If the border crossers were likely to vote Republican, Obama would mine the border.
Good ad, has a sort of a Walking Dead feel, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. Also got a kick of when they showed Rubio squirm driving home the fact that he’s weak on immigration.
Using crowd size as an indicator of who is going to win the primary at this point is pretty much pointless. Sure, Trump gets huge crowds because he's a celeb stumping in small towns and gets 24/7 media attention for now. But he also doesn't do internal polling, has yet to seriously spend any money on his campaign, has not hit the quotas needed for precinct captains in Iowa and his get the vote out effort is anemic at best. I remember getting excited about the Romney crowds in 2012 thinking these were signs Obama was going to get his commie ass kicked, but then election night came and we all know how that went down.
Until very recently, Cruz wanted to increase H1B Visas five-fold. They come in as tech workers. There’s nothing to say that those H1B workers don’t become bankers, lawyers, etc.
That’s a stupid concept and completely unrelatable to the average voter. More evidence that Cruz can’t connect with the masses.
Romney WON the primary!
Uh, I guess you are not aware Cruz talked about(it is on tape and in print) a wall back in 2012, which I think at that time Trump was still a democrat.
Uhhhhh....Trump has done just the opposite of those things that cost Romney the election.
