Donald Trump Winning Michigan Electorate – and With It, The Presidency

A Trump Conservative/Populist "Reagan Democrat" Candidacy Could Win In The Electoral College

Here is an analysis of the Electoral College victory possibilities for Donald Trump as the Republican nominee.

With a truly conservative/populist candidate such as Trump, there appears the ability to add to core base of Electoral College support which the Romney election of 2012 represents (Map 2).

Should the current economic, military (possible terrorist) and political situation continue as it is now President Obama, as did President Carter in 1980, will own the prevailing climate in November 2016 as will "Obama's third term" Clinton. The Republican base will be determined to vote in strength, whilst all those areas of support that Obama put together in 2008 with such enthusiasm-youth, anti-war proponents, Blacks, may not be so enthused next time.

Thus, as map 3 shows, if Michigan which has traditionally been Democratic is added to the 2012 base, plus marginal Florida and Ohio, then Trump has every chance to win. The GOP establishment has no credible argument for a middle of the road candidate as there are clear indications that the base would sit on their hands come November 2016, and in that case, there is a very strong possibility of significant down ticket losses.

Thus the GOP has everything to gain with a Trump candidacy, especially with a Republican congress, as he would ensure that genuinely conservative "Reagan Democrat” policies would be implemented without a veto and the country would be back on its traditional center-right path.

Trump’s trump card is that alone amongst the other GOP candidates he has significant appeal to “blue collar Democrats” and “Perot voters” as well as bringing to the polls the Evangelicals who stayed home in 2012. His message of “jobs for Americans” has potential game changing ramifications in the Electoral college. (Map 3)

Much more great info, at link.

Thanks for the ping, when.

The irony is that the GOP have been complaining that they need a bigger tent party for years. Trump is expanding the tent, but it isn't the type of expansion the GOP establishment wants. The GOP establishment seems to prefer a huge influx of foreigners -- like the Dems.

Trump is going to put a lot of supposedly “safe” blue states into play and that is going to cause significant problems for the democrats down ticket, in addition to giving him a new address in DC. But I agree. NY will go with their “native son” and turn red for the first time since 1984.

“Trump is going to put a lot of supposedly “safe” blue states into play and that is going to cause significant problems for the democrats down ticket,’

The biggest problem is that there is less ability of the demodogs to steal election through voter fraud. If more areas area close they would run out of buses.

hope you are right, I just the other day read an article on that subject. Trump is loved in Manhattan and in fact a lot of the black areas. Also remember Trump IS NY and Hillary is a lowly carpetbagger from Arkansas.

GOD Bless America!

TRUMP is not one dimensional and *crossover* is the pay off.

The “weeds” loving candidates put voters to sleep. Using sleeper discussions to pander to only one segment of one base, it’s going to be over sooner than later.

I’m starting to wonder why even Hillary bothers to run against TRUMP, never mind our 15 man field. She can’t like hearing about Michigan.

The folks are FED UP!

TRUMP, 2016.

Cruz has virtually no friends in the Senate to ever hope to hold the gavel, unfortunately.

That is so much better than rich donor dependent Ted Cruz pushing for the cheap labor express.

What about California? It's like a watermelon, with a blue rind (coastal areas, esp. metro SF Bay Area/Silicon Valley and Los Angeles metro) and a red interior. How would Democrat vote fraud play out here, or would they keep the state legitimately? What say you?

Very nice shot! I like the sober, determined TRUMP best, in interviews and photos, alike. This one is pretty serious too. Nice.

I have no idea. I know that when I was a high school student in Texas back in the 1970’s a lot of the legal Hispanic hated the illegals. If that is still true who know? I know that a Caucasian friend in San Diego is a Trump supporter and he is a democrat.

At least we can dream
