Report: Pataki To Drop Out Of The 2016 Race
TPM ^ | December 29, 2015 | Tierney Sneed

Posted on 12/29/2015 3:05:11 PM PST by presidio9

Former New York Gov. George Pataki (R) is calling his supporters in New Hampshire to tell him he intends to drop out of the 2016 presidential race, The Boston Globe's James Pindell reported via Twitter.

Since entering the race, Pataki, who is 70, has remained in the lower tier of the polls.

The moderate Republican was New York governor for three terms after being elected in 1994. Before embarking on his 2016 campaign, there was speculation he would run in previous presidential cycles. His reported decision to drop out comes weeks before Feb. 1's Iowa caucus and Feb. 9's New Hampshire primary. Pataki had missed the filing deadlines in primary states later in the cycle.

Pataki struggled to gain traction in an election season that has favored anti-establishment policies over more seasoned politicians. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Gov. Bobby Jindal and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) previously dropped out of the race.

What do liberals and slinkies have in common?
Neither one is of much use, but they are a lot of fun to watch when you push them down the stairs!

This was an even greater waste of time than me driving in Central NJ to go to my office Christmas party, a fifteen minute trip that took me 45 and during parts of which I sincerely was praying to God to not let me die on the rainy Tuesday before Christmas roads.

“...Donald Trump is about as NY as you get.”

He is, he totally is. And I realize that even I talk like him. New Yorkers always speak in superlatives.

If a Pataki falls in the forest with no one to hear, is there any sound?

In the case of this candidacy, it was most likely the sound of one hand clapping.

I'm sure Jeb is excited, planning to pick up all the wave of former Pataki supporters. Should move his percentage from 3 to 3.01%.

To be fair, Pataki was polling 0.3% in Iowa and a big fat zero in New Hampshire. Given that 121,501 people turned out for the 2012 Iowa caucus, that translates to 364 total extended Pataki family members in Iowa who might have voted for him.

Was Pataki part of the Youth for Rockefeller group?

He had supporters? Who knew?

He and Lindsey Graham agreed they would each vote for the other when something came along where they were eligible to vote.
