Sad news for metal fans everywhere.
Damn, RIP Lemmy
you know, if there’s one thing beyond defense that I’d be willing to see more spending on, its medical research
i realize there’s a ton of waste in such programs but
still they have come up with a number of wonderful things ...
and this is something we can all potentially benefit from
too
real medical research like curing cancer, not bogus political-agenda-driven bs junk science etc
Most research *is* “real” research. Thousands of researchers are working to better understand cancer right now, with the goal of developing cures for it. We’ve made progress against many kinds of cancers—for example, leukemia used to be a death sentence for children, but now most children who get leukemia survive.

Well, I just scrolled through two pages on this particular board and no one posted it in the last twelve hours. Daily Mail posted the story less than 5 hours ago. It might be somewhere else on FR, but apparently not in News.
There’s one thread in General/Chat: http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3377505/posts

yes, much (not sure about “most”) research funding goes for potentially very good things
and in the medical field especially I am a big supporter!
yes, and (proper good medical research) is something we rugged independent self-reliant gunslinging rightwing primitive BibleClutchers... really can’t do for ourselves individually
RIP Lemmy

Exactly.
Wow, he really rocked out till the very end.
When Motorhead was formed, Lemmy claimed “we’ll be so hard, your lawn will die!”. The useless facts that roam the deep recesses of my cranium...
Well that sucks. RIP Lemmy.
RIP
A true Rocker.
