The report that the Homeland Security Department plans raids against illegal immigrants was widely attacked Thursday by liberals, but it did pick up one prominent supporter -- Donald Trump. Indeed, the Republican presidential front-runner went so far as to credit himself for the proposal, which has not been officially approved.
In a tweet Thursday evening, Mr. Trump expressed all-capital-letters incredulity that Immigration and Customs Enforcement is "to launch large-scale deportation raids." He not only said it was "about time" for the operation, but began his tweet by saying "Wow, because of the pressure put on by me ..."
Ironically, a statement by the immigrant-rights group America's Voice, which was harshly critical of the proposal, agreed with Mr. Trump's assessment of the driving force.
"The plan raises the ugly specter of the very mass roundups and deportation advocated by several candidates running for the GOP presidential nomination--most notably Donald Trump," the group said in a statement earlier Thursday.

Trump may have inspired them, but not in the way he’s hoping.
Deporting a few hundred people out of an illegal population of millions is just a cheap propaganda move of the kind we see constantly from Merkel, who loudly pretends to tap on the immigration brake to help ease in the demographic knife she’s sinking into Germany’s chest.
A few illegals will be loudly deported, and the MSM will painstakingly savour and document every incident of their “suffering”, every crying child and broken home, in order to push these “injustices” in America’s face endlessly in the coming year.
Just wait. By years end Hillary will be pointing to these same injustice as the reason why america should never ever vote for Trump and Americans will listen.
I think it’s the obamites, specifically valerie jarett, throwing grenades at the clintons again. hillary will be juggling this hot potato for weeks.
Not to slow down Trump. To boost Dems. Just hope it is too late. America pixxed at Dems and GOPe big time. Simmering just anger on American’s part. And thhey are afraid.
IIRC Bush did the same thing in election years.

So far, Trump seems to be sly (like a fox). If he can distract the media from their script of evil to chase after the latest squirrel that he has let loose, then he has driven the agenda.

The way things are going, Trump looks like he just might landslide into the White House. There is a mighty antipathy among regular Americans regarding what’s been going on in our country. The Dems are in full panic mode about now.
The one guarantee with Trump is we’ll be on a different course from the current one.

They will do all that they can to try to make Trumps core promise irrelevant.
And they will fail because we've all seen their lies and falsehoods revealed in the open.

Yeah, they just warned some illegals they’re going to pretend to look for them so they can lawyer up and get the victim tv circuit. Notice it’s families they plan to target so the victim factor will be way up.

Well said! DH and I were discussing how great it is that Trump is audacious about taking credit for things he’s done, and about defending himself immediately when attacked. We said it’s quite a difference from Bush who, when he or we were attacked or maligned, would roll over and never respond. Trump is so refreshing in that way. We love it!

Do a few token raids, drag a bunch of media along with them, and then Hillary can counter Trump or Cruz by saying that things ARE being done, that Trump is blowing it out of proportion, and that it’s “Proof” of Trump’s “HATE!”.
Just watch, kids.
When Trump advocated it, all the GOPe types and ‘RAT officialdom got all wee-wee’d up.
This action by DHS, et al, if they actually do it, will only push Trump higher. Fence-sitters, who may have liked Trump a little, but were put off by the negative press, will now see that he was right and conclude that he’s right about a lot more.
It’s OUR job to shout it from the housetops so everybody knows it’s happening, and why.

Obama is acutely concerned about his legacy and does not want to see Trump or any Republican come in and reverse his executive orders and his use of the bureaucracies to implement policies Congress would not pass.
Yep, Trump has raised the issues far more than anyone and Obama wants Hillary to win and continue his policies.
This pretend get tough policy is to fool the voters and try to defuse Trump’s appeal on immigration and terrorism.

This smells of phoniness, designed to fool the idiots, but it definitely is proof that Americans hunger for good leadership and are getting it with Trump, who is already president.
