Cruz: 'I do not intend to support legalization' of undocumented
KSPR-TV ^ | December 15, 2015 | Theodore Schleifer CNN

Ted Cruz on Tuesday said he did not "intend" to support a path to legal status for undocumented immigrants, closing the door much more tightly on a proposal he has repeatedly declined to address.

Cruz has vocally opposed a path to citizenship for the millions of undocumented immigrants in the United States, but he has taken pains during his presidential campaign to never rule out a path to legal status, often telling reporters that he will not discuss what to do with them until the border has secured...

Notice any particular word miss from what Cruz is saying here? Maybe I just don’t understand lawyer speak, or political talk or whatever.

"While Cruz may not support legalization, he hasn't definitively ruled it out. His position, his campaign said, is that he'll refuse to even discuss what to do with the undocumented population until the border is secure."

Cruz flipped for the debate. Didn't want to be exposed as a mush on the same stage as Trump. The media will remind him of this.

It was my understanding that he has been for legalization but not citizenship.

There are some candidates for whom I need to parse every word and figure out what there definition of ‘is’ is, and what country’s laws they violated. Ted Cruz, fortunately, is not one of them.

This sounds like a weasel statement. And he uses the left’s term “undocumented immigrant”.

Why not, “I’ll never support legalization of any illegal invader.”

Sorry Ted.

Cruz knows a dirty little secret that the communist DemocRATS and their toads in the state controlled “media” refuse to tell anybody. The invaders from the south don’t want no stinkin’ path to citizenship. They hate America, they’re offended by our flag, our history, Americans and our language. They’re only here to take a whack at the Big Pinata.

Ted’s a fabulous guy.

Brilliant and principled.

But he’s also a human being. He feels kinship to other “hispanics”, as anyone with a soul would.

So we can’t let his emotions overrule what we know needs to be done.

The stakes are too high, and the United States are too important to be abandoned to Mexican corruption and depravity.

Don Trump for President. Ted Cruz for Veep, or better...Senate Majority Leader.

Enforce the laws, enforce the border and most will self-deport. Our entire immigration system is broken, we have to start with the basics, once that is handled we can think of the ones who remain in the shadows and have that conversation. Without doing the other two first, you can flap your lips all you want on a podium and sound strong but in reality, they will just keep flooding in.

And if you like that one, in this one he reminds folks he submitted bills to increase H-1B immigration to 500% of then (and now) current.

Then he proposes doubling the immigration quotas.

Recap with your post included.

1. Legalize them with a green card
2. Increase H-1Bs to 500% of current
3. Double immigration quotas

He didn’t just advocate for these, he submitted amendments to a bill on the floor of the senate to achieve these goals.

Now..., in Ted’s favor he has seemed to move right on these issues. If we’re going to trust him at his word, we need to trust other people too, when they say they’ve changed their policies.

That has always been the issue regardless of candidate. Everything comes down to basics.

Gov't needs to master the basics in the form of deportation, border security, fraud prevention, and other similar items before there is some 'advanced' thing they can handle.

That has actually been his stance over the last two years.

I trust that he has changed it, but who knows.

Folks are leery of believing Trump and on this one I’m actually leery of Cruz.

Cruz really disappointed me with his lawyer-speak answer. He couldn’t just say “NO”. Saying “I have never supported that position” means nothing for his support in the future. He will lose to Trump on this single issue.
