Early on in Jeb Bush's campaign, his advisers, many of them veterans of the 2012 general election campaign, huddled to discuss a vexing concern: Mr. Bush had something of a Mitt Romney problem.
The similarities between the two men were, and remain, unmistakable: Tall and lean. Well-bred sons of political dynasties. Diction harking back to a more genteel era. ("Gosh, darn!" Mr. Romney would exclaim; Mr. Bush chides supporters against sounding like "nervous Nellies.")
Both were personally likable policy aficionados who inspired tremendous loyalty from aides. But like Mr. Romney before him, Mr. Bush has showed difficulty connecting with many voters in a visceral way.

You know, I am really tired of this...Jeb isn’t going to make dog catcher let alone a President....he can bring out his daddy, brother and Mittens and it still isn’t going to change....
I really wished he would go away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeb should have to be at the kiddie table in the next debate. His poll numbers are that low.
But you watch, he will be up there with the ones who poll better.
If you need to “reinvent yourself” in a political campaign, you’ve already lost. Shrillary was taught that lesson in 2008 and she’s about to be taught it again.
May the bridges he’s burned light his way home...
WE want Jeb? GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeb Bush is an insane megalomaniac who couldn’t prevent the democrats from starving Terri Schiavo to death, even though his brother was POTUS and his father was ex POTUS.
Piss off JEB!
27 General and Admirals support him though.
His commercials are hilarious.
he can bring out his daddy, brother and Mittens and it still isnât going to change....
Poetic. Nice visual imagery.
Didn't Jeb say Obamacare is now the law of the land and it's time to move on?
Yet Jeb takes it further. He's a country without borders, pro common core global warmist. He's found the perfect storm of reasons to ignore his record as Governor. Is it politically correct to say he has a chinaman's chance of becoming the next President?
Yeb needs to change his last name.
But listen a minute, Jeb Bush is in third place ... oh I see, in the Democratic race. As you were ...
THe Jeb Bush campaign is like watching a situation comedy that you KNOW is dying and will soon be off the air.
But if he can get Barbara out of the house to campaign, quien sabe?
Don’t underestimate the country club crowd.
I don’t think Yeb’s main problem is making other people’s mistakes. It’s making his own that’s the problem.
What’s wrong with this picture: a semi-puff piece on a Pubbie presidential candidate from the NYT.
The Times is looking fondly at the good old days when they covered Mitt’s campaign. Wonder if Yeb ever put his dog in a cartop carrier to go on vacation?
