Donald Trump must apologize to Muslim Americans and to Jersey City for his untrue, divisive and reprehensible comments perpetuating an old rumor we thought had rightly died.
By repeating â and indeed embellishing â this hateful rumor, Trump once again ratchets up the ugliness in the current political climate.
Thousands and thousands of people in Jersey City did not cheer the destruction of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Period. End of story. There is no need to continue to "fact check'' his words.
The truth is that Trump's statements are factually, ethically and morally wrong. Those of us who were really there that day and in the days that followed know that Jersey City suffered tremendous loss, mourned and stepped up to help.

F New Jersey...full of NY jerks that can’t afford to live in Manhattan and Dem lib morons.
No Muslim bastard will ever be my countryman. I'll never respect or trust one of them.
Well, the tens of thousands that Trump saw probably weren’t in New Jersey .. but I remember seeing at least that many in all the Islamic countries around the world.
It’s been a few years since 9/11 .. and it would be easy to say a larger amount .. because it was happening all over the world.
And .. the fact checkers from the WashPost .. were the ones who had pictures of those in New Jersey .. and yet they were calling Trump a liar.
The WAPO buried it in an article published on 9-18-01.
“In Jersey City, within hours of two jetliners’ plowing into the World Trade Center, law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river.”
If you’re still in doubt about muslims celebrating, go read the whole article. The only thing missing is a head count of who was celebrating over in Jersey City.
How about the head choppers apologizing?
Yes he did. Thousands and thousands of them. In Jersey City.
And like all the other sites I've seen it says nothing about people celebrating in Jersey City.
Where did you get that I was in doubt? I was just commenting on the reporting.

I also SAW them celebrating, with the smoldering remains of the WTC in the background, on local NYC news shows!
I used to deliver The Jersey Journal, when it was a newspaper.
He should offer to buy em allah BLT and a beer!
I think my brother lived on Ege Ave. Said they were right around the corner.
Cut to the quick! Argue all you want, the solution always comes back to this.
This may be a true statement. "Thousands and thousands" would require a minimum of 4,000. If it was only 3,500 Muslims cheering, accompanied by thousands of self-hating liberal democrats, Trump would technically be wrong.
The Trump musn't do anything of the sort. 8th Circle, Ditch 9 for the editorial idiot.
The only reason they didn’t take to the streets and cheer is because a LOT of people were pissed off and would have loved to get some payback. In places that were overwhelmingly Muslim they cheered the murder of thousands of innocent people.
I work in the high end pet care industry. The owner is a long-term pot smoking lib who is slowly coming to his senses. I am waiting for him to hire some biatch in a headscarf who demands that we remove all of the dogs because they offend her. When will we work up the nerve to issue a hearty GTFO to whole lot of them?
One can read it and see for oneself.
