Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson backed up Donald Trump's claim that thousands of Muslims in New Jersey partied on September 11, 2001, telling a journalist that he had actually seen video of the incident.

ABC News' Katherine Faulders tweeted out video of the exchange Monday afternoon.

I’m glad he came out with that. I think millions of us watching news coverage 24/7 then saw it. I know I did and remember thinking at the time, why weren’t these groups arrested and jailed?

I saw people getting out of their cars shaking fists and cheering as they look at the smoke across the river. I thought it was Jersey City, but also could be Newark or Patterson. Is anyone in NJ can go to the library and look up articles in local papers?
