Leading Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson believes that federal and state official overreacted in the case of Terri Schiavo, a Florida woman who died in 2005 as her husband and family battled over whether to keep her alive despite her vegetative state.
The case roiled the state of Florida and sparked an emotional national debate about the ethics, politics and spiritual significance of her life and death.

After speaking at a Republican Party conference here on Friday, a reporter asked Carson what he thought of the infamous case -- one that Bush speaks about occasionally as he mounts his own presidential campaign.
"We face those kinds of issues all the time and while I don't believe in euthanasia, you have to recognize that people that are in that condition do have a series of medical problems that occur that will take them out," he said. "Your job [as a doctor] is to keep them comfortable throughout that process and not to treat everything that comes up."

Because Carson talks in a soothing tone of voice. The Evangelicals love that. Cruz needs to learn that tone thingy from Carson.
Just when Trump stepped in it, Carson refuses to shut up and takes his turn.
If you're not defending Carson, then don't defend Carson. If he won't condemn Jeb's inability or unwillingness to give Terri Schiavo the opportunity to live and to have the family that loved her by her side, he's not a compassionate man. He says he's a Christian. I thought Christians believe in the power of prayer.
His statement was despicable and more proof we're being played by this phony.
How many times can this guy toast himself?
Except that Teri Shaivo did not have a terminal illness and was not dying, so his comments were not relevant to her being starved to death.

Are you kidding me? That poor woman laid there and her husband wanted her to die so he could marry someone else, and it wasn’t a big deal???
And Jeb Bush was Governor and wouldn’t do ANYTHING for her and let her die...and it wasn’t a big deal???

Dr. Carson is all about spouting his own remarkable rehabilitation if you believe his story. Terri had loving parents and wanted to take care of her. Still to this day JEB was such a weak hand-wringing wimp allowed the rights of her so-called husband end her life in a inhumane way. By the way ,the sorry husband had moved on and had another woman and kids. Sickening to say the least. Carson is an oddity and a phony.
It's unclear if Carson would have hit her with a hammer or stabbed her to end the ordeal.
