On Friday, a new media report scrutinized two more stories from the neurosurgeon-turned-politician.
Last month, Carson detailed how he protected his white high school classmates the day after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s 1968 assassination. Violent race riots ravaged Detroit’s Southwestern High, which enrolled more black students than white students.
Carson, a junior lab assistant with a key to the school’s biology workroom, shepherded his frightened friends to the lab to shield them from the violence, he told the Wall Street Journal.
he newspaper spoke with a half dozen of Carson’s classmates and his high school physics teacher: Not one remembered his heroic hideaway.
“It may have happened, but I didn’t see it myself or hear about it,†Gregory Vartanian, who served in the junior ROTC with Carson, told the Wall Street Journal Friday.

Dr. Carson is not my first or second choice, but I will nit believe anything from the media about him. He is clearly a target now and the hit pieces will keep coming from the drive bys.
I don’t agree with him on several issues, but I believe him to be honest and a reputable man. If the media can really prove otherwise, then so be it. But until they offer concrete proof and not hit pieces that are later retracted, I will no believe them.
What Carson describes happened in Chicago also. Upon the start of the riots in Chicago’s westside, I was assigned by insurance companies to check the status of the buildings they were insuring in the riot area.
Here I was a young white guy just out of ‘Nam with a short haircut, but obviously not police, asking questions and taking notes. Although I never came close to personal danger, leaders of the riot, who knew me from anti-Dem machine politics passed the word around to not bother me...and not just me but some other whites (teachers, social workers, Alinsky activists, etc.). I heard several 2d hand stories from both Blacks and whites of individuals watching out for each other.
So Carson’s story from Detroit is plausible.

They are fine with these tactics as long as their candidate is not getting hit.
I agree with all of your points. Carson should not respond to the media the way he does...or try to explain himself on Facebook.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin just said he will absolutely in no way support any GOP primary candidate who sided with Politico on this recent anti-Carson hatchet job. I concur. There goes any possibility of Levin support for DT and probably from Hannity and Rush as well. You don’t cross these heavies and get away with it in Conservative circles. Trump just stepped in it and made a significant Miscalculation. It soeajs volumes on character.
Many Trump supporters are going down a mistaken path. The lib MSM from hardcore oppo research ikely has dynamite stuff on Trump—don’t say the guy is home free—but they are withholding it until the right time. Should any other candidate or their supporters come to -his- support when it’s HIS turn also in the barrel? It isn’t rocket science knowing their M.O. to say it’s only a matter of time....
The Politico story didn’t “blow up”. he Press is doubling down and Carson isn’t helping himself being on Defense.
The tale as originally reported is still being broadcast, even on the Local News.
The devil is in the details, and the typical non Political types never get past the Headline. We are fooling ourselves.
