A 112-page internal document provided to U.S. News includes more dirt on Marco Rubio, Iowa vote goals and a January advertising plan.
Even before Jeb Bush's uninspiring debate performance Wednesday night, his sputtering presidential campaign was working to prevent defections.
Bush's top lieutenants convened with donors in sopping wet Houston on Monday to calm their fears and retrench for the unforgiving haul ahead.
After the confab, Bush's team distributed a 45-page PowerPoint presentation to select reporters, summarizing an optimistic view of the race, touting the Republican candidate's cash and organization, and assuring supporters that early polls are rarely indicative of ultimate success.
But in that leak to select media, the campaign purposely left out more than half of what was furnished behind closed doors.
The full presentation, obtained exclusively by U.S. News, spans 112 pages and includes a trove of new details, including Bush's internal polling, his vote goal in Iowa and his advertising plan for January.

Those plans didn’t cover going out and talking to people.
Way too low energy for that.
Sadly, he was a good governor, he was pretty conservative, but not as much now. And who wants another Bush??
The point where I realized that Yeb was a complete boob was when he moved up and down on his tippy toes to prove he was taller than Trump.
ping-a-ling
McCain couldn’t win without the base.
Romney couldn’t win without the base — against an Obama 2nd term, no less.
Somehow a Bush, son of an unpopular ex-president and brother of an even more unpopular ex-president, he’ll be different and can win without the base?
What comes after delusional?
“I just read through the document and the Bush people are delusional.”
Well, that would explain a lot, hey? You know, about how lame Jeb’s ads have been, poor campaign results, wasting a ton of money without moving the needle, etc.
It’s an interesting document, though, because they’ve gone to a lot of work (and expense) in putting together a lot of fancy charts and such, as if they actually mean anything real. I suspect Trump doesn’t have a single chart (we don’t need no stinkin charts...); Trump just jumps on one of his airplanes and goes out and connects with massive numbers of people in live audiences day after day.
I suspect a LOT of people in Bush’s campaign treat those charts and numbers as if they ARE the campaign! It’s like a lot of doctors who only look at numeric test results and treat those numbers as if they are the patient, prescribing medications intended to alter those numbers, but don’t actually listen to their patients or ask them questions.
Like doctors who don’t actually listen to their patients, the Bush campaign doesn’t appear to be aware of the REASONS for Bush’s low poll numbers, and “the plan” certainly doesn’t include any strategies about how to effectively deal with Bush’s SIGNIFICANT defects as a national candidate other than a few pages of trite slogans that remind one of a high-school campaign for class president.
So, yes, seeing this “plan” does give one quite a bit of insight into the Bush campaign “strategy”.
“Republican presidential campaigns are reportedly planning to exclude Republican National Committee representatives when they meet to discuss how to alter GOP debates, sources tell @politico”
In other words, the top campaigns are going to exclude Jeb from the next debate...something that the RNC Elite are against.
Too bad.
Exactly. Jeb and his team are political technicians, and they think they can win by throwing money around in the proper sequence while completely missing the picture when it comes to assessing what the voters actually want.
No matter for Jeb's staffers... as long as they can convince Jeb to stay in, they keep getting paid.
Bush would make a perfect democrat..oh wait maybe he is since he acts like one (in my opinion)
Didn’t a Democrat operative in the Bush 2000 camp try leaking a Bush debate rehearsal tape?
I am no fan of JEB but this is old hat Democrat crap.
Nothing to gain by spilling the beans on Mr. GOPe.
Facebook is selling (or at least SHARING) it this year. Networks like ABC (and syndicates like AP, if I recall) are planing to spin accordingly (story came out around 8 months ago if that helps track it down).
builfing contractors depend on illegals
Had a huge fight with my contractor bc I demanded evidence of legality

Bush Camp Denies Allegations on Debate Tape Leak, Presses for Expanded Probe
September 27, 2000
The charges against Rove were first leveled publicly by Molly Beth Malcolm, who chairs the Texas Democratic Party. She recalled another odd bit of campaign intrigue—this one involving allegations that Rove planted a bugging device in his own office—back in the 1986 governor’s race.

Jeb accidentally leaks his debate attack plan

I think JEB! is done.
Trump torpedoed him last summer and rendered him on life support.
Last night Rubio pulled the plug on the life support machine.
