Last week, the media hailed Hillary Clinton's supposed political triumph at a hearing of the House Select Committee on Benghazi concerning the terrorist attack of Sept. 11, 2012 that ended in the murder of four Americans, including American ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens. Clinton appeared calm and collected, even as she lied repeatedly: She said that she believed a YouTube video still bore some responsibility for the terrorist attack, despite the fact that she told the Egyptian prime minister the day after the attack that the video had nothing to do with the attack; she insisted that political hack Sidney Blumenthal didn't act as an advisor, even though he routinely emailed with her about policy; she stated that she'd been transparent about her emails, although that nonsense has been rejected by the State Department.
Most of all, Clinton suggested that Stevens had been responsible for his own murder. She said that he "felt comfortable" on the ground, and that he was merely joking when he emailed about whether the Benghazi compound would be closed. "Chris Stevens had ... a really good sense of humor," Clinton laughed. "And I just see him smiling as he's typing this." Stevens' State Department team in Libya sent requests for additional security 600 times. They were rejected.
After Clinton finished lying, she went home and hung out with her entire team. She partied. "I had my whole team come over to my house and we sat around eating Indian food and drinking wine and beer," Clinton told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow. "That's what we did. It was great. ... They did a terrific job, you know, kind of being there behind me and getting me ready, and then, you know, just talk about what we're going to do next."
As an apparent afterthought, she added to Maddow, "The point is, what are we going to do both honor and the people that we lost, and try to make sure this doesn't happen again."
Chris Stevens was always an afterthought to Clinton, despite her crocodile tears at the hearing, where she complained, "I would imagine I've thought more about what happened than all of you put together. I've lost more sleep than all of you put together." She didn't give Stevens her private email address, though Blumenthal had it. She couldn't remember holding a single conversation with Stevens after he was appointed ambassador to Libya. The night of his death she sent an email with the subject line "Chris Smith," mixing up his name with that of fellow diplomat Sean Smith. She spoke to survivors only days later. The night of the attack, she didn't speak with the Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta or the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey.
Clinton's aggressive case for the invasion of Libya led to the overthrow and killing of dictator Moammar Gadhafi -- an event for which Clinton was happy to take credit, laughing, "We came, we saw, he died." She then completely ignored Libya as it turned into a terrorist hellhole, because that inconvenient fact undercut her narrative of strength and purpose. Her State Department refused to grant additional security requests because doing so would have implicitly recognized the failure of her war. Then, after Stevens died, Clinton and her team lied to the American people and the families of the slain, pinning the murders on an unforeseeable YouTube video-driven attack, rather than an utterly foreseeable terrorist attack.
Clinton is a coldly manipulative, deeply ambitious politician willing to say and do anything to achieve power. She was always that person, which is why she lied to Americans from in front of the flag-draped caskets of the murdered men in Benghazi. And she is that person now, too, as she laughs and eats Indian food hours after maintaining her lies once again before the American people.
On the contrary, she cared about him enough to want him dead.
You and Babsig agree on that. I've read somewhere that Stevens and the CIA were running a black facility where they were trying to recover numbers of SA-14 & later-model MANPADS taken from Libyan government arms lockers by the Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Q'aeda.
Now we get a slightly different version, here and there, differing in some particulars but agreeing that black ops were going on in Benghazi at the consulate and the Annex.

There is at least more than one reason, two of which are really simple. First, to depose Ghadaffi, arms were sent to Ansar al Sharia, an al Qiada affiliate. Al Qaida is a named enemy of the United States by statutory law. Providing aid to an enemy is... So, Stevens was aware of an act of treason on the part of at least Hillary. Second, the motive for said treason to destabilize Ghadaffi in addition to Xero's eschatological Islamic wet dreams was very possibly to make money for her buddy Sid Vicious Blumenthal and his sponsors at British Petroleum. I can't imagine Stevens didn't know, but both are knowing too much.
But may I suggest a couple of other questions?
One, Hillary wasn't off the leash in all this. She was working for the guy who went to bed early that night because he had to fly to .... somewhere .... for a political event. Vegas, I think. Yeah, don't bother me with crises, I gotta speech in the morning.
Two, Hillary wasn't in the DoD chain of command. So who relieved Gen. Ham and told every manjack in the Med basin to "stand down"? It wasn't Leon the Peon, LBJ's and Slick's former water boy, he's never had the stature to make big-league calls like that.
So what was Obozo's angle on this? He wasn't just The Man Behind the Curtain, he was the quarterback on a halfback pass option play. Other people were in motion and in the slot, but he was the guy who called the play in the huddle. </off endless sports analogies>

Clinton’s whole political career is bogus. She has lied, withheld evidence, had women harassed and threatened, stonewalled, lied some more, destroyed evidence, lied some more, threatened some more, laughed at other people’s losses and torment, lied about her wealth and circumstances, and the list goes on. She does whatever she needs to do to fool people, who unfortunately seem to want to be fooled. Amazing, huh?

The way I see it, yes and no. To Commander Xero's knowledge, what she was doing that he could see to please the Muslim Brotherhood was all skittles and rainbows. I don't know if he would have seen much less cared about her side deal with Sid Vicious and BP. Once TSHTF, his involvement was limited to doing anything to get reelected. Hence "the video," versions I and II.

On that we completely agree. But I'm not so interested in what happened during and after the attack as I am in what precipitated it. On where the stand-down orders came from, I have no freaking idea. Is it really important compared to providing weapons to al Qaida? True, four of our guys died, but tens of thousands of Syrians, Yazidis, and Copts have been killed for this end-times fantasy of his.

I've always seen Obama as an expensive bag-man vascillating between jihadi wet dreams and a revolution of the proletariat, anything as long as whitey takes it twixed the sheets. Sometimes I wonder if he gets his marching orders from his caddy.
If that creep has an angle, my take is that he either wants to propitiate a Sunni Shia war to bring in the twelfth imam to unify the Muslim world and conquer the rest, or he's out to destroy white Western civilization to empower the downtrodden of the third whirled. Stevens was the gate valve on the information pipeline to arm the meltdown in Syria, perhaps to get their hands on Saddam's biological and chemical weapons? What I don't know is if his globo corporate communist handlers rigged it for the benefit of the Russians. I see these things as feeding frenzies of confluencing interests rather than coordinated actions.

No, we armed the AQ affiliate to take down Ghadaffi, but they were but one of several groups. I don't know which group got his weapons. My understanding is that Stevens was buying them back and shipping them out because we were done with them.

My concern about these ManPADS is that they might smuggle them here to sit outside airports. We have a new air traffic control system, NextGen, which directs airlines to come into major airports in single file, low and slow like ducks in a row. A couple of terrorists with shoulder fired SAMs could have a field day. Maybe that's what AQ wanted and Stevens was foiling them. Don't know.
Great point, she even approved and then spent millions of dollars on a campaign ad across the world, advertising that “the Benghazi attack was due to a youtube video that we had nothing to do with”. Remember that?
