First, apply a little common sense and a historical perspective. If "gun control" laws actually worked at their stated objective (reducing gun crime) we wouldn't be talking about them. We have literally thousands of "gun control" laws on the books across the US. We've had them for decades. Yet there is still a perceived problem with gun related crime and violence. So apparently, by actual test, the various "gun control" laws do not work. Therefore it is the definition of idiocy to believe more of what does not work will magically start to work. The hard-learned lesson here is guns are not the problem.
Second, not only are gun control laws demonstrably ineffective - they will never be effective tools at reducing gun violence. The cold simple truth is that criminals by definition break laws. Passing more laws will not change criminal behaviors. If someone is prepared to break a dozen or so laws and commit murder, passing yet another law that will be similarly ignored and broken by this person is balm for a fools conscious. You're not actually doing anything.
No need to cover up - the judges just put them back on the street like nothing happened ...
Yeah. There you go with logic. The key word is Control and while the leftists try to act like they want to control guns it is really about control of the population. There is no other explination as to why the leftists power mongers continue to push a failed “answer” to gun violence. The paroles are true believers and will not question what the power mongers tell them.... They are “all in.” They are crazy. I know that sounds weird but when presented with facts they make up reasons for the demonstrable reality to be “ wrong.” Like a person with brain damage who cannot perceive what is real. Except it is not a physical defect within their brains instead it is a mental construct they wholly believe in. No real way into that to get them to accept the truth, which you so eloquently outlined.

You are, of course, correct - gun control cannot work, because if it could, it already would have done so.
Nonetheless, you have committed a fatal error. Your mistake is in applying common sense to an issue that the libs/leftists attach only emotion. Common sense and facts have no place in the debate, mainly because they are immune to that kind of argument.
So instead of trying to argue with common sense, logic and/or facts, the best way to convince them to back off is to shock the Hell out of them - tell them to go and F themselves. Yes, literally. Because their agenda isn’t gun safety, or a reduction in crime, it is nothing less than complete civilian disarmament. It started with the Zimmerman trial and expanded. Clarke went on to blast “Black Lives Matter” as a “phony movement” that serves the political needs of Democrats who want to keep a significant portion of their base fired up over issues of race heading into 2016.
Sheriff Clarke is right: this is nothing more than the black community being manipulated by Democrats and race hustlers, who want to use racial division for their own profit and power. But at the same time, these are willing participants here, all too happy to cause chaos, commit crimes, and burn down black-owned businesses, all in the name of ‘black lives matter’.
