Kasich: I Brought Ford Jobs Back, Not Trump
NEWSMAX ^ | 10-26-2015 | Greg Richter

GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump claimed credit Sunday for Ford Motor Company's plans to move a production plant from Mexico to Ohio.

Trump has been calling out Ford during his campaign, saying the automaker plans to move jobs from Michigan to Mexico, but Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who also is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, says the move from Mexico to Ohio had nothing to Trump's demands. "The truth is that Ford began moving jobs back to Ohio four years ago under the leadership of Governor John Kasich," the governor's campaign said in a statement to the press on Sunday night.

"Our country needs real leadership and not empty, false rhetoric," Kasich said. "Working as a team, we brought Ford production jobs back from Mexico to Ohio years ago. That's how things really get done. Hard work and teamwork brings results for the people."

When Kasich announced Ford was bringing the jobs to Ohio in 2011 the vice president of Ford North America Manufacturing said it was "enabled by the Governor and his strong leadership," the campaign noted.

Kasich is where the establishment will be going after Jeb drops out. This is the opening salvo.

I hope so. Nobody has less appeal than Kasick. But Bush.

Kasich isn't a bad guy. In fact, I like him and I think he's got a reasonable record of success.

That said, he doesn't have the fire to take on Trump on this issue. Any issue, really.

Trump isn’t a Clinton democrat, so stop spewing lies. I live in Ohio and I remember that Ford was going to build truck or truck parts here in Ohio, but still planning on building the new plant in Mexico. Here’s the article if you care to educate yourself: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-03-07/ford-to-move-pickup-production-from-mexico-to-ohio-van-plant

Now, Kasich does get credit for that, however, if Ford totally abandons building it’s plant in Mexico, then that possibly could be Trump’s doing - so they are both right and to be credited.

And what does “teamwork” involve where John Kasich is concerned?

Well, for starters - the sodomite tag team daisy-chain ... “Grunt grunt, oh yaah, do it to me, Johnny!”

Isn’t that correct, gov?

I’ll bet he’ll take credit for bringing sodomy back to Ohio too - since, well, it’s the “law of the land.”

“That is on top of the 18 plants already in Mexico, and there are least five more planned or under construction. Mexico has seen a 40% increase in auto jobs since 2008 to 675,000 last year while the U.S. saw only a 15% increase in the same period to more than 900,000.

Earlier this year, Ford announced it will spend $2.5 billion on new engine and transmission plants in Chihuahua and Guanajuato, in central Mexico, creating 3,800 jobs.”

Kasich & GOPe are sleazy lying slobs! A corporation the size of FORD, there is probably more than one plant. Kiss my arse!

Kashick should have spoke up a long time ago. Trump should get credit by default cause he has been the only one talking about it. Next time speak up Governor!

How so? If Kasich did this deal in 2011, why was Ford considering moving the plant to Mexico this year? Kasich seems to have pointed to nothing he did this year to change their mind about this plant.

Trump has praised Kasich in almost every one of his speeches as a great governor. So he’s not anti-Kasich...currently. If Kasich gets competitive with him then that will change of course.

This is all speculation at the moment, unless and until Ford releases some kind of statement. Trump said ‘word has it...”, so I don’t think there’s been any official announcement from Ford yet.

Let me put on mu Capt. Obvious uniform...

There we go... Fits like a glove.

If Johnny is responsible for bringing them back, who is responsible for threatening to go to Mexico in the first place? How did he fail before and end up costing them tens of millions just PLANNING the move to begin with?

And now he wants to take credit for the big save?

It’s pretty obvious the writing is on the wall for Businesses and they can either deal with a President thats one of their buds or one that knows all the tricks to becoming a nightmare for them Barry could only dream of being.

I’m with you on this one.

Ford was gone until Trump jumped on this with both feet.

Ford saw sales going to near zero on the vehicles manufactured in Mexico with Mexican labor.

They had no choice. Trump set a bonfire under them and that’s that.

Kasich may have helped to grease the skids, but Trump got the ball rolling.

Ford
Sanctuary cities
Feds evaluating prisoners in the LASD jails for deportation

Thanks Trump.

Here is an article from August of this year, reporting that the first vehicles (not parts) were rolling off of the production line in Ohio:

http://money.cnn.com/2015/08/13/news/companies/ford-truck-mexico-ohio/index.html

If the line was already up and running in August, then there is no way that Trump’s rhetoric had anything to do with the move.

“Ford was gone until Trump jumped on this with both feet.”

“Kasich may have helped to grease the skids, but Trump got the ball rolling”

Except, y’know, Ford shifted production from Mexico to Ohio in August, meaning there is no way Trump’s campaign rhetoric had anything to do with the move. He started talking about Ford in June, when he announced his candidacy. A move like Ford’s takes far longer than 2 months, meaning that the decision was made well before Trump started talking about it.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/should-trump-get-credit-for-fords-decision-to-move-jobs-out-of-mexico/

The decision that Trump is taking credit for is one that was made years ago (Ford bringing 1,000 jobs to the Avon Lake, OH plant), and has nothing to do with the decision Trump has been criticizing for months (Ford building new 3,800-job plants in Chihuahua and Guanajuato—which Ford has not abandoned).

So, basically, Trump is lying.

Trump has been calling out Ford during his campaign, saying the automaker plans to move jobs from Michigan to Mexico, but Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who also is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, says the move from Mexico to Ohio had nothing to do with Trump's demands.

Trump didn't make any demands of Ford as he had no power to do anything as a non-elected official. What Trump did was put public spot lights on Ford's plans in a very public way. Kasich didn't.

In fact Trump is doing this to all these companies who are shipping jobs and entire American industries off shore and was using Ford and other companies as examples.

Kasich ought to get his facts straight.
