According to attendees at a recent fundraiser, George W. Bush is no fan of a fellow Texan currently competing against his brother in the 2016 Republican presidential primary.
I just dont like the guy, Bush reportedly said of Sen. Ted Cruz.

Despite working on Bushs 2000 presidential campaign, some speculate Cruz angered Bush by becoming too cozy with GOP front-runner and frequent Jeb Bush critic Donald Trump.
Cruz has also made an effort to distance himself from George W. Bushs policies, offering some criticism of his administration during a recent interview.
Its not a good thing for a Republican president to grow the national debt from $5 trillion to $10 trillion, he said, citing such spending as the impetus for the tea partys formation.
Regarding Bushs reported comment at his expense, however, Cruz chose to remain gracious instead of escalating the situation. I have great respect for George W. Bush, he said, and was proud to work on his 2000 campaign and in his administration.
He concluded that it is no surprise that President Bush is supporting his brother and attacking the candidates he believes pose a threat to his campaign, though he made it clear he does not intend to respond in kind.
I met my wife Heidi working on his campaign, Cruz said, and so I will always be grateful to him.
Ted Cruz has class. He truely is the real deal.
My dream team ticket: Trump/Cruz
Cruz has class. Also he’s very canny. He’s the one we need.
W was a failed president in a number of areas. This was one of the most egregious examples.
I’d rather see Cruz on the SCOTUS. He’d do a lot more good for a lot longer.
The linked site is a clickbait scam site just a word of warning.
That headline gives it away.
I thought Cruz’ response was very classy and respectful.
I am particularly ticked off at Bush for spending 8 years in that office and never once responding back to Democrats about their outrageous claims and THEN having the balls to come at Cruz because he’s running against his Geek of a brother. W’s daddy pal’ed around with slick Willie multiple times - they both just yukked it up it seems, Jeb gave Hillary some award or something, and W has the balls to say this about Cruz?
Eff W. Eff him all to heck. As far as I’m concerned W gave us DHS and TSA and that’s what he should be remembered for. He’s not the man we were led to believe he was.
Or, as advisor to someone like Trump.
Yes, the Cruz response is perfect. It makes the Bush nastiness look very small and petty.
RE Cruz:
Gracious, classy, and smart. A damn fine Man.
And TARP and 'the religion of peace' shpeel that's completely undermined our willingness as a nation (not referring to obama's muslim compliant administration) to name our real enemy.
weird never heard Bush say this about Clinton or the fairy boy in the white house.
Cruz/another conservative for me.
“Or, as advisor to someone like Trump.”
Kinda like Homer Simpson advising Stephen Hawking.
I’d rather see him as president or vice. You would have to wait, probably until hell freezes over, for a liberal seat to open on the SC. In addition, if he is on the court and there is not a clear conservative majority then again he will accomplish little. We have a couple of justices right now who are constitutionalists but they usually end up as dissenting opinions. We need him in a position of power immediately, where he can make an immediate difference. Could he be appointed later when the conditions are right, even while VP? Of course.
Who cares whether Bush liked him or not? We presume that they don’t all like each other. What is this, high school?
He better be grateful for his wife Heidi. She is a Wall Street/Goldman Sachs Analyst. Makes big bucks. He is also a Harvard Educated Attorney (Sound Familiar) He is a first term Senator running for President (Sound Familiar). His biggest contributions for his campaign come from Trial Lawyers. He has managed to alienate himself from his fellow Senators on both sides of the aisle. He talks a good game, but can’t name a single accomplishment of his own. Is this guy really a Conservative? I think not!
Cruz is my Number 1, but things don’t look good for him. He should be doing much better in Iowa as it is a socon state. He’s stuck around 8-9% and needs to find a way to make a move soon.
I prefer, Cruz/Trump.
Cruz rises above the petty. He is also probably the smartest guy in any room.
