Exclusive: Ted Cruz's Warning To Donald Trump: "Policy Differences" Coming Soon
CBN ^ | October 22, 2015 | David Brody

Posted on 10/22/2015 6:49:14 PM PDT by Isara

In an exclusive interview with The Brody File, Ted Cruz says he has a plan to begin highlighting, “policy differences” between him and Donald Trump. “There are plenty of policy differences and there may well come a time when we start highlighting those more,” Cruz tells The Brody File. “In a political campaign there are seasons and phases to it…as the race narrows down, as people start making choices, we may see some more policy contrasts.”

Cruz has been climbing in the polls and has the money to make a serious run at the nomination. He’s been courting evangelical voters since his announcement speech at Liberty University. The truth is this: Cruz needs Trump to fade to have a realistic shot. The Brody File contends that Trump’s biggest threat is not Jeb or Rubio. It’s Cruz. He’s going after many of the same voters as Trump and he has the credentials, intellect, debating skills and passion to really make a dent in Trump’s voter pool.

One other quote from Cruz during our interview:

“I think the sharpest difference between my record and that of every other candidate is that people are tired of campaign conservatives. They’re tired of people who talk a great game while they’re on the campaign trail but they actually haven’t walked the walk and I think people are looking for a consistent conservative.”

If charts could win election, where is President Perot? He never did a press event without charts! IMHO, Cruz’s main problem is he can’t resonate with most voters.

Um, not really, since even without the SCOTUS decision, the World Court’s decision against Texas was still unenforceable, and it’s generally acknowledged that the SCOTUS would have ruled against Medellin regardless of Ted Cruz’s argumentation.

Cruz can’t even resonate with the senators. How is he going to resonate with the general population? Winning in swing states is quite different than winning in Texas.

Cruz Vs. Hillary................Landslide for Hillary.

Yes, let’s be honest. There 250,000 foreign students a year who graduate. And includes Bachelors, Masters and PHDs.

How many science PHDs? Smart people make the economy grow and create jobs. I’ll gladly roll out the red carpet for any immigrant with PHD level smarts in the hard sciences who wants to live in the US. It’s just smart biz to attract those folks and I’m sure Trump will do it.

You are thinking backwards. Trump is trumping all other candidates in 99% of polls. He has earned bragging rights.

What has Cruz earned? Single digits in every poll?

Cruz needs to learn modesty, and be humble. He needs to latch on to Trump’s coat tails. Otherwise he is just another loser.

I don’t know what voters you are talking about but Ted Cruz is a huge favorite on Facebook.

Granted he did not have the built-in name recognition that Trump had but if people hear him, they like him.

When he ran for Senator from Texas he was a relative unknown. Yes he had been successful in arguing in the Supreme Court but only us dorks know about that.

The entire Republican base in Texas including Perry supported the other candidate.

Ted won in a breeze. Yes, people like him and yes, he resonates.

A Trump supporter preaching modesty and being humble?

Cruz has only 3 friends out of 100 senators. And he is going to win over Reagan democrats and Independents? Heck even Romney voters will stay home if Cruz is the nominee.

Hillary will win by bigger landslide than Reagan, if Cruz is he opponent in November.

"Trump’s not perfect. I fully agree. But he can get stuff done and he has a long record of leading toward big things. Cruz needs a few more years to get hair on his chest. He’s not equipped yet to be the leader. 8 years as VP under Trump would do him a lot of good."

Puhlease. Are you a conservative or not? Trump is a businessman and has gotten lots done, but Cruz has worked within the political system and also got things done. Trump is nowhere as informed nor as smart as Ted Cruz.

Trump is a blowhard who would be creamed by Hellery in a debate...think Clinton spinning, parsing, denying, lying, etc. Trump is used to having his own forum and looked weak in the debate with his smarmy smiles and gestures and generic answers that everyone is so enamored with.

Keep supporting the ego-centric celebrity and watch us lose the Presidency.

Ted Cruz for President.

Did you even read his post. He didn’t even mention Trump. Why don’t you address what he said?

I don’t know what voters you are talking about but Ted Cruz is a huge favorite on Facebook.

Probably because most of your friends on FB are not dissimilar to yourself. Facebook has a funny way of doing that.

Please do not put your lack of knowledge of PhD caliber people on display. For starters, they are not H1-B visa cheap foreign workers, majority of whom are computer programmers.

Trump wants to eliminate immigrants sponsored by relatives, who are majority under-educated, low skilled, non-English speaking, welfare dependent. Instead Trump wants to retain Ph-D’s in science & Engineering. Very very smart!

That is not what I said. Please enhance your English reading & comprehension skills first. Then we can have an intelligent debate.

You people are kinda nuts, scuse me for saying. Somebody said Cruz has only 3 friends in the Senate. That’s probably an exaggeration but Cruz has spoken out against the poor estabishment leadership in the Senate.

That doesn’t make friends but it’s honest. He told the truth about McConnell whereas most Senators just hover around trying to stay in office and get along.

Trump supporters are terrified and paranoid. I like Trump a lot. I just like Cruz better.

As far as Facebook goes, I don’t know what goes on on your page, but mine is all Cruz and not because of me because most of the posters are not even my friends.

"Like any of that would really matter in a debate with Hillary. Nobody that she appeals to even cares about the Constitution, or has heard of this "history" thing."

It's never about the loyal, it's about the undecided. Cruz can put Constitutional principles in place that appeal to the undecided as to what is best for our Nation. He can articulate so many of our original founding values that would make some think twice about "fundamentally changing American" crap that Opeaser has initiated.

TED CRUZ
RESTORE AMERICA TO HER RIGHTFUL PLACE AS THE LEADER OF LIBERTY.

Cruz’s main problem is he can’t resonate with most voters.

You know, I actually LIKE Ted Cruz, but what you've said here pretty much nails it.

Let's face it - Ted Cruz IS smart, he's knowledgable, he's informed, he knows the Constitution, etc. etc. etc.

But none of that means diddly to the average voter. The average voter isn't going to ooh and ahh over a candidate just because he can expound at length on the original intent of the Commerce Clause. Such a candidate is going to come across as the smarmy nerd on the debate team in high school who always got beat up by the football players. Maybe that shouldn't be the case...but it is.

Ted Cruz would be GREAT in a role where he can essentially serve as an ideological "whip" - setting the direction for a group to go and trying to up the knowledge base of the group so that they know more about what they're talking about. But that's a supporting role, not a leadership role.

Yeah...but there's a reason most people who are "undecided" are undecided.

It's because they're idiots. And Harvard debate team arguments aren't an effective way to reach them.
