In an exclusive interview with The Brody File, Ted Cruz says he has a plan to begin highlighting, policy differences between him and Donald Trump. There are plenty of policy differences and there may well come a time when we start highlighting those more, Cruz tells The Brody File. In a political campaign there are seasons and phases to it as the race narrows down, as people start making choices, we may see some more policy contrasts.
Cruz has been climbing in the polls and has the money to make a serious run at the nomination. Hes been courting evangelical voters since his announcement speech at Liberty University. The truth is this: Cruz needs Trump to fade to have a realistic shot. The Brody File contends that Trumps biggest threat is not Jeb or Rubio. Its Cruz. Hes going after many of the same voters as Trump and he has the credentials, intellect, debating skills and passion to really make a dent in Trumps voter pool.
One other quote from Cruz during our interview:
I think the sharpest difference between my record and that of every other candidate is that people are tired of campaign conservatives. Theyre tired of people who talk a great game while theyre on the campaign trail but they actually havent walked the walk and I think people are looking for a consistent conservative.

I guess we could pardon his proud papa.
Nobody said that Cruz needed to make this impact as POTUS. No matter how pluperfect his policy gets (and in the scheme of things, H1B is small potatoes) he’s still not of any demonstrated executive temperament.
I think Ted and Trump have more in common than not.
What amazes me through this whole Position process is that anything they want to get done will have to go through the Congressional Filter where 90% of the Republicans are full of crap and 100% of Democrats are evil to the bone.
Everyone here acts like every proposal made by the potential Candidates for POTUS will be implemented. They forget that anything put forward will end up being sliced and diced thanks to “compromise” and the utopian thought of reaching across the aisle to people who wish Conservatives like us end up Imprisoned or Dead.
No matter who gets in, America as we knew it is lost. We may be able to resurrect some of our National Identity, but I hold out very little hope of that really happening.

>> “Look at who funds Cruzs campaign. It isnt grassroots people like Trump and Carson.” <<
.
That is the biggest lie you’ve told yet Mr. Union Troll!
Cruz is the #1 receiver of grass roots funding in this cycle.
Go back to the IBEW and have a few beers with your union thug buddies.
.
Well, that’s a lie.
I’m a Cruz supporter; I’m retired.
So your “I know everything” has no substance.
And .. here we go again with the lies, lies, and more lies about the H1-B visa stuff. I don’t know where you people are getting this stuff .. but it’s just a plain old lie .. and I think that’s what the DemocRAT unions are peddling .. to make people vote for a DemocRAT.
Here’s where Trump could sport longer coattails, maybe even a lot longer.
Why of course, they are in too many sad cases trying to show the world who has the biggest “conservative” je ne sais quoi.
Trump doesn’t NEED it... stop to let that sink in.
Cruz is funded (owned) by Robert Mercer, a hedge fund guy.
That’s the story behind his fear of atacking Trump. He knows that the counter punch will tear him to pieces.
His father is a lunatic imo. I can’t say for sure about Ted since no one has asked him about all the weird stuff his dad says.
But you’re right, the main reason Cruz shouldn’t get the nod is that he can’t win. I think he’s mostly conservative but he doesn’t have a prayer in the general. He doesn’t have the confidence and power to hit back hard at the moderators and to inject himself into the debates when the media won’t call on him. And he’s constantly whining about everything, rarely going out and doing something big.
Despite all the money Cruz has, I saw that only Trump and Bush are actually putting in the effort to get ballot access.
The claim was most, not all.
Yep. But watch the Cruz Cult ignore your post and pretend it doesn’t exist.
Maybe one of them can post another one of those Viagra spam graphics touting Cruz doing well in some arbitrary rating system.
From Trump’s immigration paper:
“Requirement to hire American workers first. Too many visas, like the H-1B, have no such requirement.”
t’s interesting that Ted is going to fight something that likely wold not have been an issue, if only Ted Cruz had kept his flippin mouth shut on the TPA (or had spoken against it)
**************
Cruz is relatively transparent here. He wanted fast track, and imo, frankly, he only voted against it because he knew it would pass.
Why did he want fast track? Because he believes he’s going to be President— and he wants that streamlined mechanism for his trade deals. (Incidentally, if Trump becomes President, he now will be able to get those renegotiated trade deals he talks about through Congress).
As for TPP, Cruz was never going to support it. Why would he? Why would he pass Obama’s trade deal in 2016, when Cruz could negotiate his own in 2017?
I think Cruz believed that in a Presidentialial election year, all the Dems and their Presidential candidates would be forced to vote against TPP— 5 GOP had already voted against it— so Cruz and a few more conservatives could tank the deal. Intheory, the GOP should not want TPP in2016, when it can be renegotiated by a GOP Pres in 2017.
That was his thinking, I believe.
If true, Obama doesn’t get a trade deal, and the next Rep Pres. has fast track to get his deal through Congress in 2017.
Meet Ted Cruzs Billionaire Donors

Actually, that makes sense. I do like Cruz, might move him back up on the list.
Hopefully Cruz will emerge the winner in the early Primary states. But if he or Trump wins they will have back stabbing GOPe hindering them at every chance. Sooooo.
This is a typical charismatic Christian manner. I don’t agree there is sound theology behind it, but I understand it and respect his right to do that without calling it lunatic. What mattered more was what was prayed for and taught in that home, not what was “claimed over someone.” I cringe at the latter kind of talk because it presumes on God’s choice of methods.
His wife does or did work for GS.
Well, then don’t make stupid statements that aren’t true.
Yes, I’m literal. To just make off-hand statements and let everything fly is not very responsible.
Remember, you can influence people with your phoney information .. and why would you want to do this ..??
Are you getting paid to come on these threads and spew your lies ..??
I’m beginning to wonder about this because it seems to be very prevalent.
Many of us, have tried and tried and tried to explain to the likes of you why we think Trump is the best choice for this country at this time, but you will not do us the courtesy of answering us, you just smugly call us names, cultists, irrational, and inform us how much smarter you are. Talking to you people is like banging our heads against a brick wall, you will not listen, you will not respond to what we have to say, you will not even acknowledge that we have said anything at all. Well I guess that is one way to reassure yourselves that you really are smarter than everybody else.
