A battle over “sanctuary cities” is dividing Senate Republicans.
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has teed up legislation that would crack down on cities that don't comply with federal immigration law.
But its unclear whether the bill can get through the Senate — and not just because of opposition from Democrats.
In addition to limiting federal money for sanctuary cities, Sen. David Vitter's (R-La.) bill would increase the amount of prison time an undocumented immigrant could serve if they re-enter the United States after having previously been deported. Conservatives like his plan, but it has drawn opposition from Sens. Jeff Flake (Ariz.) and Mike Lee (Utah.), who have concerns about broadly applying mandatory minimum sentences for undocumented immigrants.

Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nevada) wants to link Vitter’s bill to immigration reform.
“We haven't had a discussion here for two years. For two years we haven't had a discussion and so all the sudden we're going to bring up an immigration issue and not talk about the bigger issue,” Heller said.
The Nevada Republican didn't detail what would be included in his proposal, instead describing it as "comprehensive immigration reform."
Heller added that he hasn't decided whether he’ll back Vitter’s bill if he can’t get his own amendment attached.

Well, how about this! The Mormon Church is the fastest growing church in Mexico! Sad to say, I was born into Mormonism, but I have been over it for nearly 50 years. My maternal grandparents had a large home in Provo, Utah. They rented half of it to another family and the upstairs to BYU students. When my mother died at 93 I had to bury her in Utah. I took her younger sister to dinner and then we decided to drive by the her family home. What we found out (largely because I speak Spanish) that that building now houses five, that’s FIVE Mexican families! The Mormon Church is as bad, as the Catholics when it comes to subverting our immigration laws as they bring newly converted Mexican Mormons into Utah! We are lucky Romney lost!
Wonderful testimony on the Mormons. I like the Mormon value system. I love their family strength and morales and then they spiral off into oblivion on Joesph Smith who was in it for the girls.
I will tell you,( and you will disagree) that all Mormons are saved in Christ because they accept Him as the Son of God , Which is all it takes for salvation ( John 3:16) .

News flash: I wasn't talking about entry-level developer jobs. I said experienced developers. Ask any IT manager in Texas. We don't have experienced, knowledgeable candidates beating down our doors. We have to hunt them.
But, since you mentioned it, recent STEM graduates aren't owed jobs. That's libtard reasoning and is, frankly, exactly what is wrong with the vast majority of American graduates. They feel entitled. They want to work bankers hours for big money. They want promotions that haven't been earned.

You advocated importing cheap labor to drive wages down for STEM.
I think it would be a better idea to import a H1B visa to take your job at half the cost to your employer or clients. It would save them money, right? And they wouldn’t have to worry about you leaving for some other project since it would be an indentured servant.

Each time I moved states, the hiring company compensated with relocation costs. And if I switched jobs, the new company bought out the relocation clause from the prior company!

Every IT manager I know would prefer to hire American citizens who are well qualified rather than deal with the headache-inducing paperwork for foreign citizens. And BTW, the HB1 employees with whom I have worked are paid handsomely for their skills. They aren't cheap labor, Darlin'. (Not in my industry anyway.)
You admitted your company is terrible at hunting for candidates. If that's really the case, you're still doing it wrong especially if you refuse to compensate that experience they earned at another company. There are plenty of people all around this country who worked long years in IT and got laid off.
But instead, you'd prefer to replace the population of Plano, TX by importing people from a country with a caste system and where slavery still exists. This is what you want for America, and I highly disagree with your vision.
