You advocated importing cheap labor to drive wages down for STEM.

I think it would be a better idea to import a H1B visa to take your job at half the cost to your employer or clients. It would save them money, right? And they wouldn’t have to worry about you leaving for some other project since it would be an indentured servant.

Your laments about hunting people (cry me a river) is because you cannot find someone willing to work for what you are offering.

NEWSFLASH: Quit whining and raise the pay rate. Pay for relocation for qualified candidates outside your state if you can’t allow telecommute. Each time I moved states, the hiring company compensated with relocation costs. And if I switched jobs, the new company bought out the relocation clause from the prior company!

You just don’t want to hire Americans. You want to hire cheap indentured servants like it’s 1732 or something.

No, I very clearly said that we cannot find enough experienced job applicants with the skills we need. Your little rant about what they're being offered is a strawman.

You manufacturered a non-issue, genius. Texas IT jobs generally pay very well and most major companies here do offer relocation services. You think you know what the issue is, but you don't.

Every IT manager I know would prefer to hire American citizens who are well qualified rather than deal with the headache-inducing paperwork for foreign citizens. And BTW, the HB1 employees with whom I have worked are paid handsomely for their skills. They aren't cheap labor, Darlin'. (Not in my industry anyway.)
