GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz sought to distance himself from front-runner Donald Trump this week, saying the mogul would not be the partys pick for 2016.

Troll.!? Cute. Before you write more, realize I donated hundreds of dollars to Cruz when he announced. I earned the right to criticize his failed campaign. Even if I didn’t, he has proven a hypocrite on trade and Iran, has played games on amnesty, and calls for a 500% increase in H1B. I still think he’d be great as AG or in Supreme Court, but that is it. Everything he has tried this year is failure. He should get out of the race now before he further embarrasses himself. Call me a troll if you want, I really don’t care and it does not hurt my feelings or change my opinion. Might make me even less likely to listen to you or consider your candidate. Anyway, instead of throwing insults around, why don’t you address the criticism? Oh, that’s right, none to counter facts.
I’ve heard every candidate say this and have heard Trump say it about other candidates.
Of course one candidate is going to say that someone else isn’t going to get it - they expect to win. Its why they’re in the race in the first place!
You are mistaken. Cruz is the most conservative in the race.
He had very high numbers in New Hampshire. You just won’t read about them because they are typically left out.
He didn’t say Trump wouldn’t win. He said historically the early frontrunner ( Trump) does not win the nomination. He’s correct about that.

Thanks - I appreciate the advice. I am seriously considering stopping my visits here for a while. It has gotten so depressing esp. since my favorite candidate is Cruz. I had to similarly withdraw from the internet in 2012 when Obama won re-election.
I think Cruz is saying these things because he has been accused of riding Trump’s coattails. I don’t have a problem with him saying he wants to win the nomination, but to be so bold as to say Trump won’t = is what scalds me. ALso, saying he will pick up Trump’s supporters is a little presumptuous.,
The headline misstates what Cruz said, intentionally, I believe. They want to create a rift, and have Trump come after Cruz, like he did with other candidates. What Cruz said is he thinks he can beat Trump, and so he, not Trump will end up as the nominee. Any candidate who didn’t think they could win shouldn’t be in the race. There are several of those in the race nonetheless, they are stalking horses for the GOPe.
There’s no reason for Trump to decide his VP choice now, let alone have word “come down”. Why would he? There’s no advantage to deciding now. Trump is not he kind of guy to close off options unnecessarily. He won’t make a pick until there is a good reason to do so.
As for Cruz, what’s he going to say? Trump will win? They why donate to Cruz? He has to say Trump won’t win.
More like a reporter asking Saban if he thinks LSU will make the final four playoff.
He just invited Trump to joust. So far no one jousting with Trump has fared well.
Here's that interesting video on Trump from the creator of the "Dilbert" cartoon.
However Cruz supporters want to spin this, it was a mistake for Ted to state things as he did. To those voters whom he thinks will eventually move to him, he is saying: you don't know it yet, but the guy you're supporting will eventually lose, and then you will come to support me.
Arrogant, presumptuous and offensive to people who've decided to support Trump because of specific issues, his chances of winning, and his persona. Not the way to have people move to you at some later date.
Cruz has always been my second choice after Trump (though his chances look bleaker and bleaker). Less positive toward him now.
I had higher expectations of Cruz
Thank you.
For the most part I agree with Adams. Where we split ways is his description of Trump being trained to do this.
I believe Trump was more or less gifted with the ability to sway people in his direction. It was a vitally important tactic to be used during negotiations. It is probably the single most important thing he possesses.
It could also be seen as the real reason why he complimented literally everyone. He was softening them up for the kill years later if he might have to deal with them.
Now he doesn’t have to anymore. Now he has to pick sides, and realize he’ll not be on everyone’s side any longer.
BTW: Thanks for the link.
I have known people in life, like Trump in that they used those tactics.
They wouldn’t have known “Rules for Radicals” from a DIY craft book.
Club for Growth may choose to endorse Cruz on October 15. They are spending $1 million to defeat Trump. Cruz will be their only presidential-candidate speaker. They have many very wealthy donors.
Of course it’s not that simple. But they are trying, believe me. The clubhouse Republicans hate Trump.
This may explain Cruz’s remark that Trump can’t win.
The media may join in the fun, since they know Cruz would never win in the general.
Yes sir.. I agree. Trump was blessed with that ability and has cultivated through his career.
I honestly believe that if he's elected we'll see the most eventful turn around in the history of this Country.
As they say... "from my lips to God's ear."
Thanks for your note. I appreciate and agree with your reply. Hope God does hear your prayer and intercede.
Take care.
