A concealed-carry license holder is cooperating with police after she opened fire on a shoplifter who was fleeing a Home Depot on Tuesday afternoon, police in Auburn Hills, Mich., said.
The shooting happened in the stores parking lot about 2 p.m., when Home Depot security was chasing a shoplifter in his 40s who jumped into a waiting dark SUV, said Lt. Jill McDonnell, an Auburn Hills police spokeswoman.
But when the SUV began to pull away, a 48-year-old woman suddenly began firing shots at the fleeing vehicle. The vehicle escaped but possibly has a flat tire, McDonnell said.
The woman who fired the shots has a license to carry a firearm and is cooperating with police.

That was a stupid action. Not even the police will shoot at a fleeing car driven by a shoplifting suspect.
Bye-Bye to the concealed-carry license as it should be.........
I’ll wait to hear the rest of the story, before judging and condemning, we’ve been down this road too many times of condemnation before the facts, the details are far to sketchy, always want to consider the agenda of reports and consider the source, especially when there is a full out effort from the media in support of current gun control efforts.
Well, probably not the brightest thing to do (although we don’t know all the details). But I’d give her this one freebie and suggest she be more discretionary next time.
“Anyone carrying that engages a criminal should shoot and ask questions later. Sorry I strongly disagree with you.”
That’s a fifty thousand dollar bullet.
My CCW taught us that you will almost certainly have to legally defend any shot fired while carrying CCW. Expect legal fees to run in the neighborhood of fifty grand. That’s if you’re lucky and manage to successfully defend your shot.
More than worth it to protect me and mine.
I don’t waste fifty thousand dollar bullets playing hero in non-lethal situations.
YMMV.
“I would be in favor of all gun owners going through a certified course. If they have never shot a gun before.”
Is it a right, or a privilege to pear arms? A right cannot be taken away, a privilege depends on the whim of .gov.

This is from the Chicago Tribune. I’ll wait for the truth to come out.
A car is a deadly weapon too, maybe she feared for someone else’s life.
We weren’t there.
In the state of Michigan an entire day of training is required to carry concealed.
“No crime here.”
Really? Is that what the Oakland County Prosecutor has determined or is this just your opinion?
I concur. The woman probably regrets being born with an additional orifice between her legs and thinks she can do anything a man can do, including being able to shoot straight. No Annie Oakley is she!

Hillary Clinton took aim at the National Rifle Association in Iowa on Wednesday, hitting the group for what she claims is its absolutist stance on gun rights and comparing it to the Iranians and Communists.
Clinton drew the connection to the gun rights group and murderous tyrants after a woman in the audience at a town hall meeting in Mount Vernon noted that President Obama seemed defeated during his remarks on gun control following last weeks mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore.

Where do you live that shoplifting is considered a violent crime?
