The top strategist to 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney doesn't think 2016 front-runner Donald Trump will even be in the race when the first votes are cast.
Stuart Stevens, an unaligned strategist who spearheaded Romney's successful bid for the GOP nomination, said Monday that Trump is likely scared of losing.
"I don't think he's going to be on the ballot by February 1," Stevens told CNN's Jake Tapper..."The greatest sin in his value system is to be a loser, and most people who run for president lose. I don't think he'll risk it."
Trump enjoys a solid, but shrinking, lead nationally and in early voting states. But he said last week, "If I fell behind badly, I would certainly get out."

If I were a betting man I would take Trump at 2:5 that he wins Iowa.

I want whoever was making this interview to go back to this fool and ask for comment when Trump wins the IA caucus.
If you WANT Trump to drop out, you don’t put him in a position where he has to double-down or be seen as someone who is a quitter on the terms described. VERY stupid on Stevens’ part.

F. Chuck Todd asked him about poll numbers and Trump said if he is losing he would drop out.
What F. Chuck doesn’t understand is that Trump was explaining why Perry and Walker had no recourse.
He is playing the left like a well tuned fiddle.
Seems like world events are conspiring to make his platform stronger in appeal. That and the constant criticism from those who are seen to be undeservedly in positions of influence are both helping.
The critics are like a Chinese finger trap. The harder they push, the worse it gets for them. Yet they can’t stop, because silence would mean they have given up. So they are helping. Let them rave.

Being a top strategist for Romney is not exactly something I would proclaim to anyone...ever.

I talk politics everywhere I go and everyone I talk to is supporting Trump. I met a young man in the Army a couple of days ago and he asked me if I supported Trump. I said yes and he gave me a thumbs up. IMO, military veterans would be wise to organize into a huge voting block and support Trump. We need to fix the VA and rebuild our military. Trump has promised both.
Pee wee Herman or the late Tiny Tim are stronger than Willard and competitive with Willard’s “alpha maleness”). Willard has always been a wimp and losing to Barack Limpwrist Obozo simply confirmed it. If any creature so low as to have served Willard, the baby killer, Willard the gun grabber, Willard te fag “marriage” enabler, thinks so little of Trump, then maybe there is more to Trump than I have imagined. I will stay tuned.
For the record, I’m not for Trump.
I’m also not for his GOPe detractors.
I find the whole manipulation by poll thing to be dangerous and destructive of government of the people, by the people and for the people.
The fact is that the will of the people, expressed in a fair political process, is being replaced by media and pollster manipulations.
We’d all be far better off if everyone ignored polls entirely and supported, come hell or high water, only those candidates who actually represent them and what they believe in.
