The top strategist to 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney doesn't think 2016 front-runner Donald Trump will even be in the race when the first votes are cast.
Stuart Stevens, an unaligned strategist who spearheaded Romney's successful bid for the GOP nomination, said Monday that Trump is likely scared of losing.
"I don't think he's going to be on the ballot by February 1," Stevens told CNN's Jake Tapper..."The greatest sin in his value system is to be a loser, and most people who run for president lose. I don't think he'll risk it."
Trump enjoys a solid, but shrinking, lead nationally and in early voting states. But he said last week, "If I fell behind badly, I would certainly get out."

I fail to see how a so-called former top strategist for Romney can be still called a ‘top strategist’ they lost! Lost Big AND HOW! I UNFORTUNATELY supported him and he failed. BIG Time!
If Romney gets in before Trump leaves, and I doubt that Trump will leave... So let me start again, if Romney gets in with Trump, it will give all kinds of fodder for Trump. It will make Trump even stronger.
I believe Romney wants to get in, badly. Because Romney sees an alpha male possibly larger and stronger than Romney. The alpha male in Romney can’t allow this to happen (this is the Mormon thought process.) The problem, is that Trump will show that Romney lost to a effeminate loser Obama, and so therefore Romney is NOT an alpha male; and because of the lost to such a loser like Obama, Romney is even weaker that Obama.
Alpha male Trump WINS against effeminate wimp loser mormon Romney.
